That AU I promised

Dec 21, 2012 21:44

Husband is still at the party, I am kind of pissed at him because he hasn't been home all day long, and had promised he'll come home at some normal time. Decided to do something creative so I started that AU where Clint is a single dad, based on this thing here:

Ahhh, okay, that makes perfect sense. It's always intriguing to see the work-arounds around, you know, things like the circus and the Red Room. And I am very excited to see Barney in this fic. I don't see much of the character in fic and have picked up from random hints that the guy is bad news ( ... )

Oh man so much fun!!! Daddy!Clint gives me such happy squeels inside. Poor Jeremy needs to just get himself a family already - he's so freaking adorable with kids!

I love what you've got going so far! Maggie is adorable and I can totally see Clint as a devoted dad. Love his wanting to meet the new teacher and be involved in what Maggie is doing.

Chicks getting too interested in him, huh? Bet Natasha not being too interested piques his interest!

One little thing -- I can't see Maggie calling Natasha "Nat", at least not yet. If Natasha's a new teacher I wouldn't think she'd know the class all that well yet and I'd think she'd be a little more formal (disiplined?) with them at this point. "Ms. Romanoff" or "Ms. Natasha" (Ms. or Miss either) might be more appropriate. I know when I was a kid I didn't get away with calling adults by their first names/nicknames unless they were really good friends of the family.

I would agree with the last paragraph - dance-class with younger kids could be more informal, but I can see Miss/Ms Natasha.

Ahh, quick thoughts before I head back to bed (hate nightshifts >.< ) I like! :DDDD I really like that Maggie's maternal grandmother is still a part of their lives, and that Clint is trying to do as good a job as he can. And yay Natasha and dancing! Unlike frea_o's initial reaction, I can well believe a Natasha who is reserved but a dancer at first glance (it's a normal AU; I don't see 'assassin' as a core part of Natasha's identity anyway).

And I like! I am kinda amused that we both ended up writing things (admittedly, mine - on my journal - is Natasha as from a criminal background, but that's the alternate background I mentioned in another post), but whee. I like :DDD

Yay thoughts! You're precisely the person to discuss this with. :D Maggie has both maternal grandparents, and they're really awesome, to both her and Clint. Mary and Robert, I think. if there are canon names, i don't know them, I really like Mary and Robert. :)

In my writing so far Natasha has always been a spy/assassin/something of that sort and it's a bit difficult to figure her out here. There's a backstory to her, she had a difficult life, or rather a difficult phase in her life and she's spent last four or five years rebuilding/reclaiming herself - that is one of my important Natasha-concepts. Dancing makes sense for her, it takes discipline and many other traits we usually associate with Natasha. And she just enjoys teaching children (she likes children!). Also, the respecting boundaries theme we discussed? It fits here perfectly. *nods*

I'm so glad you like!!! Think I'm gonna have a lot of fun with it!

Not many thoughts! I was really tired this morning, but I insisted on writing something before going back to bed *g*

I don't think Bobbi's parents are ever given names, but I like :D Might I make a petition for Bobbi being a scientist or something? She's canonically got a degree in biochemistry and everyone forgets about it, which makes me sad :( More scientists. But just :D I really like that there is still family there, and that Clint is not solely on his own.

*nodnodnods* yeah, makes sense. I have her as a courtesan in one AU where she's never killed anyone, and in another she was a serf trained as a ballerina who admittedly has killed people (her lord, in order to escape) but isn't an assassin or a spy, so I'm already used to fitting her into different roles while still remaining Natasha (another 'verse, after RR she becomes a hacker instead, but she's still got that background) (I still need for ex-Mafiya!Natasha, work out her rebuilding/reclaiming bit. That bit I don't have yet. It's annoying me. Anyway). And yessssss, re: ( ... )

Oh oh oh YES. Bobbi was a scientist, or sciency - and they were happy together, ugh. Her parents still love him and treat him like a son - his own parents are dead. Barney is around but Barney is not doing well, and Clint is taking care of him. And he doesn't have a criminal background either.

I need practice with Natasha. Fitting Clint into different roles is easier, IDK why - maybe because I see him as more ordinary than her. but practicing is awesome. I like my dancer!Natasha. (There's another dancer!Natasha, in the AU with Strictly come dancing).

YEEES! NATASHA AND KIDS, 'TIS ADORABLE. (Imagining her reading a story to Maggie and Stark twins and it's :D :D :D )

This is an awesome start. Loving the headcanon convos. Am I right in thinking that both of them expected the other to hit on them, and were pleasantly surprised when that didn't happen?

I know Natasha isn't a spy or assassin or anything, but ballet dancers can do some pretty cool stuff. Especially if they have training in martial arts. Just saying. And Clint as a detective is perfect. Using all that real world know-how to catch bad guys.

Ooooh yes martial arts!!! Awesome idea! That really fits into what I have in mind for her. She's an ordinary woman, she had ordinary but rough life and she learned how to take care of herself, defend herself if needed *nods* And yeah, both of them expected the other to hit on them, but since it's his POV here, you get insight into his thoughts. But, she has similar experiences and yeah, she's pleasantly surprised. Even tho he was late and she was all "you made her very upset" *G*

I'm glad some part of my comment made sense, I was writing it pretty late for me. :) I'm glad I read the hitting on each other thing right. It's like the anti-meet cute, which makes it twice as cute.

It did no worries. (I usually write at pretty late hours myself and sometimes when I look at my entries and notice grammar and other mistakes... eep!) My point is, my own comments and stuff aren't perfect, so no worries. I'll ask if something's not clear.
