I actually am getting dumber, as predicted in
this forum thread on BookCrossing.
I just finished typing an email to
fancyhorse, and signed it "I hope you're having a great weekend." But when I looked at it, I couldn't believe I'd typed it that way, so I "corrected" it to "I hope your having a great weekend." And hit send.
Yup, I was right the first time. Egads.
"Trashier" is soon to follow, evidently -- I'm going to sit in the sun and read Marian Keyes.
Edited to add: I'm even dumber than I thought. Because I realized "your" was correct all along, as I drove to the grocery store. Dear Lord.
Edited again to be even more shocked at myself. "I hope YOU ARE having a great weekend". DUH. Clearly I'm not getting enough sleep.
