1.9.09

so far, 2009 is going pretty well.  i have a full time job, with benefits on the way.  granted, it's no where near my trained trade or the job i thought i'd have out of college.  but i get paid well, my colleages are the greatest people on the face of the planet, the perks (free membership, woohoo!) are great, and it's really helping me turn my life around.  i never thought it would be like this when i got the job.  i work out every day after i'm done.  some days i'm here almost 2 hours after i clock out.  my energy level is up and for the first time in a long time, i feel a bit like the old sara; the peppy happy sara.

thanks to hannah (aka banna123456 ) i know have my very own copy of "dead until dark" (no more waiting for the library!  woohoo!).  i've only read like 20 pages or so, but i've already made the following observations:

1) i LOVE this book.
2) i cannot WAIT to watch the show, true blood (show on HBO based on the books).  i already talked to terri today (spin teacher i talk twilight and switch books with) and said i just have a little bit further to read before i've read what the first episode entails.  and also thanks to hannah, i'll be able to watch them online.
3) the similarities between this book and twilight are.... resounding.  human girl and vampire boy.  unexplainably attracted to each other.  HUMAN girl can read minds but CAN'T read his.  people do not want them to be together.  she's not afraid of him like others are.  bill (vamp) is trying to "mainstream" and edward tries to assimilate into culture as to try and not be a monster.  i could go on and on... the really pecular thing?  dead until dark was published FIVE YEARS BEFORE Twilight!!!

so i still have about 50 pages left in the book (LOVE IT!), but i was getting antzy and started watching true blood on sunday.  um... holy crap?!  first, let me get this out of the way.  after about 7 episodes, i can suffecently say that i DO likethe book better than the show.  that being said, this doesn't mean that i dislike the show.  because of the similarites i kept finding to twilight, i kept picturing edward and bella (my mind version, not movie version) instead of sookie and bill, even though s/b are older and look completely different.  so it was nice to get that visualization.  and sam is WAY cuter than i thought he was.  but thickening the plot h as added new characters and storylines that are not in the book.  and these are not always good.  ex: jason, sookie's brother.  WAY mroe of an asshole than in the book.  and i don't really like his indivdual plot line because of this.

also, sookie is WAY more critical of her relationship with bill than in the book.  she takes it way slower and is moodier about everything.  and i like that whole "getting caught up with being in love with a vamp" fastness / thing.

i had a hard time getting started again this week.  it was weird what taking just one day off did to me.  i know there were other factors involved, but i've remedied that.  none the less, i keep going (pretty much cause i'm scared of what holly might to do me if i stopped lol).

finally got to see burn after reading.  um.... holy crap.  really funny... yet incredibly stupid.  yet.... i don't know.  those people, and those characters!! my subject line is the freaking amazing brad pitt lol. THE HAIR!!  oh dear god the hair.

i would just like to conclude this post by saying RAVENS ARE GOING DOOOWWWNNNN BITCHESSSS!!! :-D i love the playoffs.:)

peace love and pearl jam

dead until dark, the girls, here we go steelers here we go!!, oac, twilight has taken over my life, i can readz!, true blood, burn after reading
