Oh... [MILDLY DISAPPOINT GOD SHE'S SO FAR BEHIND UGH] Congratulations, Luke-san. I'm happy for you.

[A small smile and she nods, content that she did the Good Deed of the Day. But his next words catches her interested and the smile fades into a serious face]

An imposter of Layton-san?

Thank you, Chrome. Have you taken the gym challenge yet?

[ he ponders this, falling silent for a moment. ]

Possibly, possibly not. As I haven't yet met with him in person, I can't tell if he's the Layton from my present... or perhaps just another imposter.

I haven't. I don't think I'm strong enough yet. [She blushes lightly, a little embarrassed to admit it.]

Luckily, it's possible to get stronger.

It's always possible to get stronger, in any field. [She says this with a surprising amount of firmness, then pauses and lowers her gaze]

I met him not too long ago. He told me some puzzles and we had tea... I'm glad I met him, I like him very much. [She looks to Luke with a frown] If someone is going to be impersonating him, I hope they don't try to give him a bad name.

... Of course. You're right. [ firmness duly noted. he smiles, but it's the barest of expressions-- in fact, it's almost not there at all. ]

Sounds like the professor. Unfortunately, I suspect that if someone is going through the trouble to imitate him, it's not out of goodwill.

[She's quiet for a moment, thinking]

...I can't see why anyone would try to do such a thing to Layton-san. However, I'll do my best to help stop it. I can spread word to Boss and my fellow guardians, if that can help?

He's a rather infamous man in my world, as it happens.

[ he gives her a warm smile, though there's something funny in his eyes. ] Thank you, Chrome. Your help in this matter is invaluable.
