five: (accidental video/audio)
[ the camera first reveals a close up of luke's sneasel, alice, peering curiously into the pokegear. after a moment, it the view flips awkwardly to reveal her master strolling confidently, examining something small in his grasp. ]
With all the fuss about gym leaders, I actually expected Falkner to be a challenge. How strange. [ a small flash of something is visible in his hand for a moment before he tucks it into his pocket-- that something may have been a violet city badge. either way, you won't see luke openly bragging about his winnings to the network. after a moment, he looks over at where the pokegear is being held and shakes his head in amusement to see that alice has turned it on. he reaches over with a small murmur: ]
Ha ha... have you been recording me all this time, Alice? [ ... and the feed suddenly shuts off, but by the static and movement audible in the background, it hasn't been turned off completely. there's the smallest of pauses before luke speaks again; this time, his tone is quite serious. ]
I wonder if anyone has by this point met a man who just arrived recently-- a man who goes by the name of Hershel Layton. Of course, he probably doesn't resemble the same professor you already know. This may be because... well, I suspect that this man is from my present. That is, a future version of the Professor Layton that has already been in Johto for quite awhile.
... However, it's hard for me to say for certain just yet.
