Showing off (again)!

Yesterday I received a copy of my forth publication (a translation of T.S. Eliot's The Hippopotamus in Carmel - a journal dedicated to poetry). Now, this latest issue of Carmel is a gem! It includes excerpts of Zvietajeva's correspondence with Rilke, a new translation of the first chapter of Doctor Zhivago, some hilarious epigrams by Olivero Jirondo (comparable with The Devil's Dictionary) and much more. I heartily recommend it - regardless of my participation in it, naturlisch.

By @ by - rumor has it that I am by no means a mellow critic when it comes to literature in general. Some people had gone so far as to accuse me of reserving any kind words I may have to my own work. Mooselets in brine! (ijon, am I quoting correctly?) I may be blunt, I may be blind, I may be viciously unkind - but, believe me, my poor nose has been driven into the cold cold ground many a time, mostly by well-meaning folk. Two had even suggested that I never write or translate another line again. But enough of this wining.
