Day 06: The Best Kiss?
Inuyasha and Kikyo
This was so hard to choose, with all the great anime couples out there I was going crazy on having to shorten my life. But I have to say that Inuyasha and Kikyo topped my list in this category.
It shows how much these two suffered during their relationship and as it started to get better, Kikyo was at her death bed. I always knew that Inuyasha cared for Kikyo but I never knew how much until I watched his scene. He sounded so heartbroken because he couldnt protect her.His words literally broke my heart.
"You were the first woman whom I ever cared about ... And Yet ... I couldn't do anything for you"
"This is the first time I've ever seen you cry Inuyasha"
"Kikyo I .... I couldn't save you"
"You came for me .. Thats enough"
After her soul leaves the earth
"I didnt want Kikyo to endure sorrow any more"
"I wanted to ... protect her forever"
This kiss also symbolizes their broken relationship as well as forgivness for one another for not trusting the other when Kikyo was alive (Literally). It shows that they still are passionate about each other as well, that they have been waiting for this for a long time but neither would give into the temptation for several reasons. I Know they kissed several times before but it was never this raw where emotions were flying all over the place, including Inuyasha who is usually so proud to show any signs of weakness, cries openly for the girl in his arms without hesitation. Plus kissing Inuyasha was the last thing that Kikyop did before she died which is exteremly romantic yet tragic.
I don't care how many times Inuyasha kissed Kagome or if he kissed Kagome more times than he kissed Kikyo. Its the quality of the matter that counts not quantity. This kiss has to be the most passionate in the series, one of most passionate I've ever seen.
