Now, this isn't a problem (yet...), but for those of you who have been following The Clearing House on here, I'm hauling everything across to
clearing_house. It'll be tidier, and makes more sense (à la
wotc51 and
delonio of old). And yes, for the sake of continuity, I'll re-post the earlier entries en masse prior to popping up the next chunk/s.
Gosh, I hope these lapses into French don't represent some sort of trend. Gah.

The "oohs" and "ahhs" which accompany the revealing of Dell's new Inspiron DUO 10's big fancy feature in this video are priceless:

However, they probably have more to do with the fact that it's hailing from Dell than anything else! You can read about the device here:

My own views on touchscreens remain unchanged, but here's an intelligent - if somewhat late - appraisal of the primary cause and instigator of all this kerfuffle (the iPad) from Jason Hiner:
http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/hiner/?p=5941&tag=nl.e101 I've noticed that the word "gimmicky" seems to be used less and less as a perjorative term these days. Although critical judgement may well have become the first casualty of this speed war in pursuit of "teh shiny", it's hard to summon up much sympathy for early adopters who all-too-willingly rush to flash the plastic, and rack up debts instead of sitting tight for bugs to be ironed-out in 2.0 versions. Why the hurry? I've no idea.
Ta-ra for now.
