Every time I go in to school to use the printing equipment, there's somebody already there, using the press. So today I got a lot of paper cut to the right size, but didn't do any actual printing. I also completely mangled my flipbook-in-progress, through inappropriate use of the paper guillotine. I know what I did wrong now, so when I start the stupid thing over again it should work better. But in the meantime, I'm feeling like an incompetent ass.
I've also been working on my latest series of [insert expletive here] rectangles. As usual, they go very slowly and are no fun, even though the ideas behind them are sometimes interesting.
The city is filling up with Christmas lights and various decorations. I like the effect of the small white lights, when they're carefully wrapped around the branches of deciduous trees to outline the shapes. I guess I like all the lights, actually, even the less-tasteful multicolored ones, and the ones made to look like giant glowing fruits and vegetables and stars and models of the Space Needle. They're incredibly cheesy, but any light is good, at this time of year.
