Normally I would stay safely inside on Black Friday, but I needed to go to the art supply for paper and some odds and ends. Walking through downtown was exactly as bad as you'd expect: the place was jammed with people hauling around handfuls of Old Navy bags. Traffic was a mess, which made me once again rejoice at being a pedestrian. Happily, the art store was as quiet and uncrowded as it usually is. I got the paper for my book, and also a really cool plastic tube thing in which to carry said paper to school. It's about a yard long, and it's translucent übelgrün. If I filled it with water, it would look like an overgrown carpenter's level. I've been wanting to buy one for weeks, and I finally justified it to myself by remembering that I'm going to need some way of taking all my drawings home at Christmas.
Then I got home and discovered that my metal ruler is an inch too short to cut the paper into pieces the right size. Humph. I'll have to take it to school tomorrow and use the giant industrial-strength rulers in the bookbinding classroom. So I suppose I have no choice but to work on my Photoshop stuff, which I've been putting off.
