Final projects finally getting there

Apr 28, 2006 19:32

Yesterday I spent too many hours printing stuff on the cylinder press; today I spent too many hours printing stuff on the Epson wide-format. Nice to have both of those things done.

Stars

There's nothing remotely accurate about the astronomy, but I did include an occultation, for the benefit of my star-watching friends.

Twenty-four Hours of Light

This is a series of photographs taken at twenty-minute intervals over the course of twenty-four hours. It's the last big project in my Visual Communications class. It's printed out at 17"x17", and the tiny little text is much more legible at that size.

And now that I'm home again, and taking my brain off the hook, here's some useless stuff. I can't remember where I first saw the link to this, but it's a fine time-waster.

Friday's Feast

Appetizer
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how polite are you?

I think I probably span the whole range, depending on whether I'm working on typography homework (one) or having dinner with elderly relatives (my knob goes to eleven). Under normal circumstances, I don't think I usually go below a seven.

Soup
What was the last thing that made you laugh out loud?

I'm not sure, but it was probably something Tim or Ryan said, and it probably rated quite a small number on the previous question's scale.

Salad
Who is your favorite cartoon character?

Er. I don't know very many. Boris and Natasha.

Main Course
Tell about the funniest teacher you ever had.

Tough question. I've had a number of wonderfully entertaining teachers, but I think I'd have to say the funniest was C. Martin Vincent. He was slightly gnome-like, and absolutely delightful, describing "orbiting thingummies" with great enthusiasm. The Professor also had a class with him, and both of us still quote him frequently.

Dessert
Complete this sentence: I strongly believe that ______________________.

Life is too short to waste time eating inferior dessert.

. . . . . . . . . . .

My feet are amazingly sore. I tell myself they only need to last another week.
