Tonight I've been writing a paper for art history. This is the first real paper I've had to write in many, many years. The first, in fact, since I started consciously trying to overcome my tremendous phobia about writing. And of course the conditions were less than ideal, but they always are: I didn't have nearly as much time as I would have liked, and I'm tired (as usual), but I managed to get through it in a business-like fashion, with a minimum of panic and despair.
Diagnosis: cured. Or mostly so. All these years of persistent journal-writing are maybe starting to pay off.
Of course, I won't really be able to relax about it until I get my grade, but I'm still far better off than I ever used to be. Man, writing. The stuff of nightmares. But less so, now.
Hooray.
