JABBERWOCKY
Lewis Carroll
(from _Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There_)
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"
He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.
And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!
One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.
"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.
`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

after nobody received the value of my pluots rant, i remembered that i need to spell out a lot of things. a large amount of things i do have humor behind them, and that few see this is humorous. i'm even satisfied if someone gets a hint that there *may* be finespun meaning. some things like this jabberwocky poem, however, are so far out of context they need something more to whet each reader's savvy.
the jabberwock is a direct fingerpoint to a mean-spirited person all of us know; but also to problems that come and go. i would have used the entire _beowulf_ story if it weren't so space consuming.
money's been tight. orlando has no jobs. big deal.
so wherein lies the plight? i have been stressing a little, which is more than i usually let myself stress. my three cousins are visiting tomorrow from new york. ten days of this city's fun and games are ahead, so i'd like to put finances to rest.
i'm not as concerned as i could be -- i have a vorpal asset. my 2002 mitsubishi lancer is liquid enough to cast shade from the tumtum tree long before sunset.

money, problems, bad noise, astronauts, etc, come and go but the climate doesn't change much.
galumph, galumph, galumph...
