The Saga of My Car

So as many of you know through reading Jenny's journal, last weekend I had a bit of car trouble. While on the way to Milwaukee on Friday, my car overheated and subsequently died. Saturday the mechanic that had towed my car to their service station called and told me that the car had a hairline fracture of the head gasket and it would cost around 700 to 1000 dollars to fix. He also told us that we should be able to drive it home. Well Sunday dad and I went to reclaim the car and got only 10 minutes away from the shop before it started to overheat again, making a 1 hour drive take over 4 with stopping and letting the car cool down. So Monday we spent the day looking at car financing and I concluded that getting a new car would have to wait. So yesterday I go and take the car with my grandfather to the mechanic we trust and I am now furious with the mechanic in Kenosha. After taking it in yesterday I paid 200 bucks to have my thermostat replaced, oil added to the car, and my fan belts replaced. Yes folks these are all things that a mechanic should notice by opening the hood, something which I don't think the jerks in Kenosha did, but nonetheless my car works and things are all good. The big test is today's half hour ride to work on the Edens. Wish me luck.
