So folks an odd turn of events has made it so that I will be unable to watch my favorite college Basketball team beat up on Louisville this Sunday, but its one of those events that actually benefits me. It turns out that the home of Westwood One Radio in Chicago, WSCR 670 the Score, (for those of you unfamiliar with the Chicago Radio scene) is also the home of Illini Basketbal via the Illini Sports Network. Now given the choice the Score would much rather have the home team broadcast, and rightfully so because it will grab higher ratings, but they are also contractually obligated to make sure that the National call of the game airs in Chicago. And this is where the twist comes in. They called one of the stations I work for and now we will be airing the national feed. Knowing that I'm probably the biggest sports fan at the station, and give that I was available, they have given me the honor of getting paid to listen to the broadcast and play a legal ID at the prompting of the announcers at the top of every hour. So I'm pretty excited about that, and there is a small possibility that I may get to do it again if the Illini make the final. So if you can tune in 1470 AM at 5 Pm Central Saturday it will be me pushing the buttons.
