Curling - Fun Facts For AoS Fans!

Any AoS fans who have suddenly developed a burning interest in curling (yes mylodon I'm looking at you) might be interested in checking out the North West Castle Hotel in Stranraer. The North West Castle is apparently unique in being the only hotel in the world that has its own full sized indoor curling rink.

Wow! Captain Ross, "this stocky, red-haired Scot, scarred from head to foot". I just think that he is "one who are is Archie Kennedy in real life" :)

There are definite similarities aren't there? Although I think Captain Ross was a pretty difficult character at the best of times!

The poem that I posted on your LJ comes from a book my partner gave me when we first met. We also have an antique print of a roseate tern (not quite the same as Ross's Gull) framed alongside a quote from this same book.
