[8 ℃ is close enough for him. That's 46 ℉ which is only 14 ℉ away from being 32 ℉ or only 8 ℃ away from being 0 ℃. The colder the better to be honest because even a few degrees lesser in the air there is the potential for it to happen--and if the conditions where right it could happen that very day. While Denmark was not savvy in the environmental

He's not sick, he's just cold. A kid who grows up on an island does not usually see temperatures of 8 ℃. So this is... difficult.
A little grumble escapes his throat. He's forgotten his shirt, it seems; or rather, he simply slept (or rather, laid in bed for hours) without it. To combat this, he's simply wrapped himself up in the blanket from his bed, using it as a sort of cloak. Honestly, he's been wandering the halls for hours, too.
So it's not surprising he stumbles upon Denmark, stepping up beside him to peer out of the window.] What are you looking at...?

He looked Scandinavian enough, with his paler features and that hair, almost like Iceland--well, almost. So with a pause he inspected the nearby figure, primarily noting his improve-cloak, the idea of it bringing a small smile to his lips which soon blossomed into something of a full grin. He was pleased to see people he had never met before, pleased for the company even at the earlier hour.
Turning, he regarded the unfamiliar face then looked back out the window, humming quietly before replying in good humor amongst the congestion of his sinuses.]
They sky! It's kinda hidden, yah see? But maybe since the weather's droppin' and the clouds are buildin' there might be a chance for some colder weather.

He settled against the window, shivering as the glass cooled his back through the blanket.] What are you hoping to see? It's so cold...
Reply
Snow, of course! Even in a place like this, it should be possible-- weather is natural, no matter the surroundings.
[Granted, the pale-haired figure didn't look like one to appreciate the cold weather the way he was wrapped up. It was alright though, not everyone came from colder climates and well--Denmark was not too fond of extreme heat, so he understood the reverse effect.]
Reply
Natural, you say...? Not necessarily. As humans building houses, we can decide the climate ourselves. But you're right in that outside it's... usually untamed, no matter what.
[No, he came from a rather warm climate -- and it shows, because he's shivering, even snuggled up in this blanket. Even if he hadn't come from a warm climate, who wanders around in the cold with no shirt on?]

Well--it needs t' get a bit colder if you ask me, but it's got a lot t' do with with dew point and of course what you've said but still--weather occurs and if the temperature is low enough and the conditions perfect hopefully we'll see some snow!
[He seems enthusiastic and while the pale haired figure was correct in what he was saying, sometimes weather could not be detoured when it came to the natural process. So, a smile continues to cross his face as he murmurs, noting how the stranger clung to the blanket.]
You need a jacket? 'M not cold if yah want mine.
Reply
Huh? No, uh... I'll be all right. [He's not used to strangers offering him anything but hell, to be honest. So his pride answers for him, though his fingers curl a little tighter around the edges of the light blanket.]

[And offhanded comment that Denmark will cling to because if you think that he is going to let you hide if it actually starts snowing now, you are sadly mistaken. He'll find yah, just you wait. Snow made him think of home, particularly just the essence of the north, the chill in the air, everything like that calmed him.]
I hope you get t' see it, but you certainly will need a jacket.
[He replied with a small laugh, though he was certain that they other would need a coat if the chill got worse--something he was predicting, something he was counting on.]

[He tilts his head at the other, giving a sheepish smile as he shifts the blanket on his shoulders.] I have one. I just -- it's not something I'm inclined to... even use unless there are dire circumstances. It's made for protection from... outside forces. Not for cold weather.
Sorry, I just realized I hadn't introduced myself.

Curiously, not as cold as it should feel on snow days. Yet, the day before it snows! Yikes.
[There! A smile. He is content, and in turn smiles back more than just sheepish but a full grin and a raise of his hand, then extending it outward for introductions.]
Ah--nor have I! Apologizes, I'm Denmark.

Mm. [Riku blinks -- Denmark is the only person who's tried to shake hands with him here. If he's shaking hands with someone, usually it'll be him who offers. But he reaches over, arm broken into goosebumps, to shake Denmark's hand.]
Riku. ... You wouldn't happen to be a country, would you?
Reply
[Denmark might be laid back, but he never forgets manners and a handshake is a handshake, the first step in an introduction which he never forgets. So taking the others hand in his, he gives it a firm squeeze, not noticing the hesitation or the goosebumps rising to the others skin hidden beneath the blanket.]
Riku though? Riku, that's an interesting name! I like it--
[He pauses at the question though and smiles brightly. Wow, you're fast and the first one to notice--so he's not going to try to cover it up, there really is no sense in doing so.]
And that I am! A nation, the Kingdom of Denmark, to be precise.
Reply
[He can't help it, really -- he's cold. And the hand disappears behind the blanket again, tugging it tighter around himself.]
You like it? [A little snort.] No one's ever said that to me before.
I've seen a few others like you, is why I ask.

What's wrong with likin' a name? It rolls off the tongue easily!
[He nods and his smile brightens once more]
That's great that you actually believe us! I tend t' just let it go when they think it's some estranged name our parents called us or somethin'.
Reply
Well... even if I didn't believe you, there would be no point in making a fuss about it. We're from different worlds, so I can't act like I know how it is there.

You should really learn t' enjoy your name, you know, it's the only one you have for the rest of your life! Be proud of it.
[And yes, he's dropping that last conversation, it's always awkward--the whole nation question.]
