So the book of French Revolutionary speeches that I was using for my big research paper turned out not to be in English. It LIED to me. The title and the biographies and the introductions were all in English, so I had all this false hope that there might be such a thing as primary sources in translation, and then I start reading an actual speech ( Read more... )

The guy next door is blaring rap music, so I'm responding by playing the Marseillaise at maximum volume. 215 years (or so) and it's still the best song ever. Especially when sung by Edith Piaf.

Also: ARGH LITERATURE PAPER. ALMOST AS ANNOYING AS RAP MUSIC.

On the bright side, I've managed to keep this Essay under 2,000 Words. (But just barely.)
