tea: i found this to be a erfect example of a small set that doesn't try to overdo it, and that does exactly what it sets out to achieve. the idea of having a "tail" interface as opposed to a hair interface is great; the moving hair is very beautiful. i enjoy that the doll feels as if it is inside a tank, and the setting is very well-rendered. the playable fish are a nice touch. i would have liked more variety in the clothing-- there isn't much you can do with a mermaid, granted, but there oughtn't be repeated items in a set this small. nonetheless, ifelt that this set is a great example for folks feeling overwhelmed by the stuffed-closet-a-zillion-effects dolls; you can still make a really good small set. vote: yes
rosencrantz: Nicely illustrated, both the doll and the framed background are well designed and presented. The overall layout is somewhat odd, while the seperating of the doll from the wardrobe is fair enuff, I found the extra bar at the bottom distracting, the arbitrary way it crossed the main display spois things somewhat. The wardrobe is severely limited, partially due to the subject (what does a mermaid wear?) but also because it's just, well, small. Overall this set works mainly as a display piece; nice to look at but very little play value. It's in no way a bad set, but due to the limitations... Vote: maybe.
