(no subject)
I leave for the Big Drive Down to Tennessee tomorrow as soon as I can get up and get rolling. I'm kind of nervous (this is the longest car trip I've ever taken by myself), but looking forward to it at the same time (six days of not going to work!).
My parents were supposed to pick up my grandma today if she's feeling well enough to fly with them. I haven't seen her in at least a year or maybe more, so it'll be nice to touch base with her again and take her fishing. Hopefully she can keep me company while the rest of the family will undoubtedly drive me batshit. I don't mind hanging out with the fam, but when you get the four of us and Missy together, my mother tends to indulge in every annoying habit she has, and my dad treats my brother like he's some kind of deity. All my buried frustrations from growing up with those people get dug up and I'm generally on my bitchiest behavior around them, which I'm not proud of, but what the hell am I supposed to do, be annoying along with them? :P
I was supposed to drive back Tuesday, but Saurabh told me today that he's going to his parents' house Saturday afternoon and not coming back until Tuesday, so I'll have to cut it short to make sure Toby isn't starving to death by driving back Sunday or Monday. Grr... it really pisses me off... I'd ask him to come back a day early, but I know he wouldn't do it. Not to mention that he's going to manhandle Toby the entire time I'll be gone, and the poor cat will be feeling nervous as all hell and then abandoned - a not-so-terrific combination for me to come home to.
