As college draws to a close

Mar 09, 2008 01:20

wow, its been 4 years already since high school ended. its been four years already when i was still wondering what to expect in college. 4 years has passed and a lot has changed since then.

i just thought of writing a small thing about the most memorable thing that happened in every class that i took in college, so as to immortalize those it if ever i forget them because of the busy life to come when i get a job already...

let's start with:

1st sem 1st year:

EN 10
-czarina, jc, vany, eunice, ms suarez
this was the class where i always fell asleep halfway through (since it was a 2 hour class). and also, i would usually make #2 in the middle of the class because of my lactose intolerance. haha. czar would always be late for this class, and when she does arrive, all eyes would be on her.

Physics (Nat Sci)
-Lecture
kendra castillo was our teacher. she is a newly grad and is the batch 2004 valedictorian... she's one hot teacher, that's all i can say.
after class, the boys of the class would usually eat at ISO and then go play counterstrike together.
-Lab
nothing much. just fun to be grouped with berk and kevin. hehe!

FIL 11
celine was my seatmate in this class and i never really expected to become close to her in the near future. aside from that, i guess the funniest thing that happened in this class was when our teacher asked me and ria to recite a poem together.

MA 11
queen, pat, mikki and debbie were my classmates here. nothing much about this class, just proud to get an A. hehe

INTACT
really useless but fun class.

PE 1
futsal. this was a bonding class for me, not only with bruce lee (sangyoun) but also with other soccer enthusiasts.

2nd sem, 1st year:
EN 11 and LIT 13
-fwd to EN 10- same classmates, different teachers... i really loved my lit 13 because it bought out the art-y part of me.

Environmental Science (Nat Sci)
Lecture
one of my favorite classes taught by my favorite teacher in college, Dra. Espiritu. ^_^ and also, i guess one thing that happened in this class is that one day, Ferjo called me suddenly and told me that he was in school. it was in the middle of this class, but then i just decided to go out without permission to accompany a friend in ateneo.
Lab
groupmates with queen, wil, cel and teddy.

MA 20
was fun. 1st class that i actually really always slept. 1st time i would meet david, who will be one of my philo-mates. hehe

LTS
teaching kids! at rizal

PE 2
basketball. cut one of the classes and ate lunch with JD instead--->resulting to a mad teachers to whom i apologizes to.

Summer 2nd year:

Lit 14
i took up sir ____. because they said he was a really good teacher resulting in my 1st C+ in college. Classmates with Bruce. We even went to Ayala Museum together with Karina (his girlfriend) for this class.

FIL 12
Sir Popa. really nice writing class. i learned a lot in this class. hehe. classmates with queen.

MA 195G.1 - Seminar in Problem Solving
TURNing point in my college life. classmates with jejomar and eunice. i really loved this class. made me decide to shift to a math course already (which will happen in 2nd sem, shifted to AMF).

1st sem 2nd year:
LS 11
very easy class. always slept in class. teacher was ok.. nothing much really. should have DL'd for this sem if not for the teacher not allowing me to take his bonus 'reporting' test. anyways, tapos na. move on move on

CS 21a
super dali ni agloro (?). got an A here. i guess yung most memorable ko dito is nung 1st practical quiz namin. i finished the quiz 5 mins lang (30 mins yung quiz) and went out na agad... tapos may nagyari.. wag na lang siguro sabihin.

HI 16
sir cheng chua. i really loved this class because sir taught really really well. i'm just always disappointed with myself kasi i often fall asleep eh. anyways, yung fun dito sa class na ito is the last day of our classes when sir set-up a japanese booth for the class to interact with (japanese games and toys). sir cheng chua is a japanese culture buff. haha

FIL 14
ms. belen. could have loved this class if not for her low grade giving abilities.

SCI 10
seatmates with cel and the girl that was a batch higher than us that was pregnant. always joked with cel about asking her if we can be ninong and ninang of her child haha. anyways, it was fun. got an A in this class because of.... *hmph*

PSY 101
polar bear sir atanacio!! he's the best. one of my favoritest classes in my stay in ateneo because of the teacher. he would always arrived either late or sweaty because he usually comes from his duty as a nursing student. and also, i would usually turn to the back from my chair so that i can chat with chux and rj which was reason for sir to call my attention (pero hindi galit) about twice.

NSTP
ate abby. quite ok naman. i did not really teach my kids much. but i would usually just make kwento with them instead. hehe! me myself would want to give him more than just knowledge--hope. that's why i would always talk to him na "kaya mo/ninyo yan!" (sorry cheezy).

PE 3
judo!! super saya. hehe. competitive tlga yung class na ito for me. one time, i made 2 ippons in one round of practice. on the other hand, natalo agad ako dun sa finals namin. i faced one of the best kasi in the judo classes eh. lastly, going to class was a whole lot better because of this one girl, (can't remember her name, basta she's one batch lower na legal management).

2nd year, 2nd sem (this was my 1st semester as an AMF major):

PS 31
Dr. Ben Chan. i loved the class, but i don't think i really made a good impression to my teacher primarily because... yes, parati akong tulog. got a B here, and i'm proud of it kasi as in super tinrabaho ko itong course na ito. what's more, i studied it myself without the help of notes kasi i did not have complete notes. haha. in addition, i was blockmates with the BS Math block of our batch. was really nice experience kasi this is the first time i was immersed in the Math majors' culture. well, nakilala ko si maxine dito pala rin. i made a promise pala na lilibre ko sya ng icecream kasi i irritated her once which will be done 1 and a half years later (yung libre ko, 1.5 years pa bago ko magawa since she left for an exchange in japan for 1 year).

PE 101
sobrang wala lang na class. nothing much to say about this class..

MA 18B
okey lang. hehe. easy math class.

EC 102
sir belen.. nothing much. just basic eco learned here.

TH 121
Dra. Natividad might be very terror teacher at first, but on the other hand she's one of the most motherly teachers i had. really really good teacher.

3rd year, summer:
POS 100
super dali na class. Ms. Lao. easy A or B+ and you barely do anything in this class.

SA 21
1st time i met Kem Garcia. was also classmates with mostly AMF one batch lower. He would eventually become my closest friend from AMF batchmates.

3rd year, 1st sem:

MA 21
1st time i got Ma'am Debbie bautista as my teacher. She's one of the best teachers in the math department. she teaches in a very clear and systematic manner that's why.

MA 124
Sir tabares. classmates with Kem. the stand out thing about this class is that before classes started, me and Kem would usually make 'tambay' beside the window so that we can spot some girls in the SEC smocket. haha. and also, Kem would usually put a "do not disturb" on my table whenever i sleep in this class. haha

EC 111
seatmates with Jeanne, my chatting buddy in this class. hehe. always looked forward into attending class because of our "chatting"/bonding sessions. haha. di naman ako nakikinig kasi kay sir francisco eh (minsan lng siguro). hehe

PH 101
Sir soh. he teaches really clear but on the other hand, i always fall asleep in his class because his voice tends to become monotonous over time. seatmates with nana and justine.

ACC 20
Dr. Darwin. It was a nice start for accounting kasi he really sets the accounting foundations right for his students. He's the reason why i understand my ACC 35 and fin 101 very very well and did not study much anymore for them.

3rd year, 2nd sem:
MA 122
Ma'm Debbie ulet teacher ko. my first encounter with real mathematical "proving." classmates with jolo, Kem, bettina, another AMF batchmate and then David (eco-h).

MA 22
Dr. Cabral. You'll be gay because he's really handsome, as everyone would say. Nothing much here kasi i isolated myself from the rest of the class by sitting at the back.

HI 165
Mrs. Habana. I was classmates with Mike and Von here. Seatmate ko si Von. haha. really nice class, lots and lots of learning. had lots of realizations about why our society is like this today because of this class.

PH 102
Same teacher, different classmates. would usually chat with either Kevin or Jake at the back of the classroom. if i'm not chatting with them i'm in deep sleep. Ateneo Labor Trials (now called JEEP) was a very nice experience for me.

ACC 35
Sir sandoval. super laugh trip class. Get him, and you'll get what i mean. he's the best!

TH 131
Locker with his triangle Theology. Could have been a better class if not for the very bad conditions of his classroom. could not help it, too hot, fell asleep in no time.

4th year summer:

MA 151
i consider this as my first real math class. its harder compared to the other math classes that i have already taken. but then, in the end, i said to myself "kaya naman pala eh!" i would often go to SM sucat starbucks to study for this class. it was a fun experience because it was summer and it was hot and a cup of cold starbuck frap would do a great deal when i'm studying.

HI 166
i loved this class. this class was like a telenovela experience for me. i can to class to hear my teacher tell a story, the story of the philippines from the the revolution to the edsa revolution.

4th year 1st sem:
the super sem.
a)24 units
b)2 of the hardest math classes, ma 171 and stat 109..
c)heavy th 141 (harvey keh).

MA 171
my first meeting with Dra. de Lara-Tuprio. really hard class, but on the other hand i really really really learned a lot. after this class, i attained that 'mathematical maturity' for myself already. met an important person in this class who is a close friend today, diane.

MA 195A.15
easy class, but i really was not able to take care of this class. barely studied because i could not balance my 24 units, computer gaming, friends and organization (ASEC) well. this resulted with a D in this class.

STAT 109
pamatay na class. grabe talaga. kulang pa ang 2 hrs per meeting of 1 hr na pagaaral mo unless nag-advanced studying ka na nung summer or before pa. mrs. reyes taught as if we were grade 3 students and it really irritated me, what's worse, i'm in front. the nice thing about this class? really felt bonded with my other AMF 3rd yr friends kasi 'we went through the same hardships.' and also, made a new 'good' friend, maxine pagador.

EC 142
dr. dumlao! he's the equivalent of dr. cabral in the eco dept. really really cool teacher. i recommend you take him, if you have the chance.

JSP 103
this class is not required, but i took it because i thought na "bahala na!" i'm a bit of a sadist because if i did not take this class i should have only had 21 units. pero it was really good thing that i took it, made lots of friends and this class was one of the classes that i looked forward to every MWF. Dra. Nagai-Yabut rocks! (kahit na boring siya hehe)

PH 103
favorite philo class in my whole stay in college. Sir Tolentino is the best teacher in philosophy. take him! hehe! he really relates to your experiences whenever he teaches philosophy that is why we are able to understand much better what the philosophers are talking about.

FIN 105
Sir Mike Tan. the "bahala na" class. haha! anyways, he teaches really well and fast. pero you're sure to pass in this class because he really does not fail students.

TH 141
Sir Harvey Keh. This is my most "pro-active" class and i really loved it even if it took lots of time and effort. Me, Lace, mimi, sam and gisele created and implemented a social enterprise called "Supersavers: saving the world one peso at a time." we did this to our immersion area, Brgy. Bunting in Pasig. sobrang gandang experience.

4th year, 2nd sem:
the last sem i'll have, and also the best one.

AMF 131
whaaa.. Sir Batalier. if not for the 730 class sched, this would have been the best class i will have for this semester. super laugh trip class! and also, a bonding class with my AMF 4th year blockmates. hehe! bonded well with kem and mike because of this class.

MA 101
3rd time ko na naging teacher si Ma'am Debbie in this class!! hehe! easy and fun class. with 2nd year AMF, kasi nga back subject ko siya. did not know them well, but if i were classmates with them for one more semester, i would be good friends with them na.

MA 161
Dra. Tuprio ulet teacher ko dito. fairly easy class siya. on the other hand, fun rin siya kasi katabi ko si maxine nung 1st part of the sem and then as for the 2nd part, katabi ko naman si kem and T.O.

MA 195A.6
Dr. Marasigan!! whaaaa.. i have really high respect for him, kaso nga lang.. parati akong nakakatulog. graabe.. pero i liked this class kasi it taught me to teach myself. i did not understand the lessons in the lectures kasi nga i lacked the background for this class (i have not yet taken math 101 and math 161 which are important for this class) that is why i had to teach myself the lessons using the cryptic equations in the handouts given to us. and alam ninyo, Dr. Marasigan is really a god in math..! i'm proud that he became my teacher.

PH 104
Dr. Rosario... grabe, if you don't want to be 'delikado' in your last semester in college, don't take him. he give loooow grades. pero, if you submit your paper early, you can make up for the low grades that he gives. anyways, he's a really good teacher. his examples in class are really concrete and strikes the lessons' meaning very well (bull's eye).

FIN 121
Sir Robert Bayot. he's the kindest teacher i was able to take. parati siyang nagtetext to all of the class about the skeds of the LTs, and sometimes would message you a greeting if there's an event for that day (christmas). i really appreciated him, and i highly recommend that you take him. as for the class, super saya kasi i was beside Nikka, Angel and ______!! CSA people nagsama sama!! hehe! Angel would always make jokes and then _____ (forgot his name) would follow up with another joke. kaya saya2. hehe

TH 151
Fr. Buenconsejo. Favorite Theo class. He was really mad at me at first kasi parati ako tulog sa class niya. pero nakabawi rin ako during the latter part of the sem. he's one of the persons that will affect your life even if you only spend only a short time in his company. i guess for me, he really changed the way that i looked at the poor and the need for action from us who are more privileged.

to come:
5th year summer:

MA 187 with dr. garces. ^^

FINISHED!!
