ang galing noh

i was reading this article written by celine lopez in the sunday (today) issue of the Philippine Star.

i was just struck with what she was talking about and it really is true:

1.) She was talking about her second adolescence that she is experiencing right now. how things are different with the way you think now, and way you thought when you were a teenager. her experience in this second adolescence was filled of insights about how it was back then when she was a teenager and how it is now, that she has grown.

She took a class at Central Saint Martins (i searched it in google, and its a college of art and design). it was the 1st day of class. The Teacher was not yet there and everyone was quietly waiting for him/her.

"Then it was awkward, my perv of a teacher (more on that later was not yet there. i introduced myself to everyone because nobody seemed to be talking and was met with tepid handshakes. then they just stared at their pencil cases. Hello! We're on our way to being 30!"

-->really true. it struck me because eversince college junior year, 1st day of classes were not that lively anymore. "lively" in the sense that everyone seemed to want to know everyone in the classroom, talk to them, introducing themselves (the class) to each other. nowadays, people would just be stuck with their own little worlds, not having interest in whoever they're sitting beside with (i guess that also applies to me). and yeah, we're young adults already! we should take the opportunity to relate with others when it comes (even if we never get close to them in the long run), since to relate with other people is one of the things that has value because it is Human.

2.) She was saying something about "(when you're already in your late 20s, compared to being a teenager/young adult) if you do something stupid, it is stupid. Its no longer charming."

really true. diba? when your friends do something stupid, you laugh because its funny and commend him/her for it. on the other hand, when your father gets home drunk and does/says something really stupid, you might laugh, but it really makes him look stupid.

that's why i think i should make the most of being stupid when i still have the time. haha!

3.)"the only difference is that now the ners rule and the cool guys are in rehab or have been deported somewhere. I can only name five cool guys from way back then who are still kinda cool now. The rest have meth face and violent tendencies--not an alluring combo."

really true. haha ^_^
