So today was nate and alysa's wedding.. LOL Actually it was like 3 days ago, but let's pretend I'm making this entry on the 26th. Getting up here was hell.. 8 hours by myself for the drive.. Fuck I hate being by myself. Either way, I finnally got here tuesday. For the bulk of the time I just felt like I was in the way. They kept telling me what a help I was, but I still feel like I'm more in the way than anything else. His family is really cool... They all made me feel like part of the family.
The other night was Nate's bachelor party. Not a typical bachlor party though. No strippers and I think I was the closest to being drunk. Wich is cool. I wasn't sure what I would have done if they got strippers or anything. Some how people think that's the greatest idea for a wedding gift. Nothing says marriage like infidelity the night before. We ended up going to this place, gameworks. It was like a big ass dave and busters. It was cool. 20 bucks and all the games you could play till 1. I did the bucking bull thing. I was a little tipsy and worried about throwing up, but you do that maybe once in your life. Afterwards we played texas hold'em. That lasted forever.. I tried to just give up once there was 2 of us left, and kept winning. We were playing 5 bucks a piece. Adventually me and the other guy just split what was left.
On the way to the wedding nate rented a H2 limo for the guys. The first time I ever rode in a limo. It was pretty hot. Everyone trying to drive up and see who was in there.
The day of the wedding was a trip! First off the pastor of the cathedral they were marring in was a piece of shit. Like you could see just from meeting him. He got up in his robes in all... I just kept telling everyone "Beware of men in robes." I doubt anyone got it though, and they call themselves the bible belt. It was ironic. They wouldn't play the traditional wedding song while she walked down the isle because it was "Too secular" Yet there was a gay wedding right after ours. Ironically i doubt theirs was the only legally upholding wedding that day because it turned out it was gay pride day in columbus.
After the wedding, we went to the state building for pictures. I said it was a mistake but no one listened. LOL No one knew what the signs for Columbus Pride Day were for! So the guys got dropped off by the limo first. The first person to see us get out said "AWWWW, it's a gay marriage!" Keep in mind this is a group of very conservative ohio guys. I thought there was gonna be a fight just from that. LOL We got hit on by some many guys it wasn't even funny. I was seriously starting to get pissied at the guys in the party though. They were yelling to the protesters "Fuck you" in stuff. They all were kinda pissed at me too cause I kept saying "How are they hurting you!"
It was great though... I got a lot of good lines in to piss them off, even though they were meant to call the storm. The one guy kept saying "I don't go around saying 'Look at me, I'm straight!' do I? I don't ask to hear that" I told him "Yeah, you make out with your wife every chance you get in the most public places possible. We don't ask to see that." The one guy was like "I don't push my beliefs off on them, they shouldn't either!" Meanwhile he's there yelling "fuck you" to any one with a rainbow anything.
So we hadn't eaten all day and I was dumb hungry. These 3 lesbians walked by with a sign that said "God is love" and a Sabaro's bag. All the guys are glaring at them like they killed some one. I went up the woman and asked if I could ask her a question. thinking it was about the sign she said "Of course baby, what's up?" I think she was disapointed when I asked where the pizza place was at. While this is happening the one guy is there "That's disgusting" like anything was happening. Then the one woman looked up and said "Hi Adam!!!" to the brides brother. Everyone's mouth droped! It was hysterical!
Then this truck drives by with a gay flag and an american flag with the rainbow. This guy Casy who just got back from Iraq was pissed! "That's wrong!" When I asked why it promted this huge outburst! I told him it's just a flag, and he said "It's making a disgrace of the flag!" Adventually I told him "Either way the soldiers are over in Iraq disgracing the flag as it is, what's the difference?" He got mad, cussed me out and walked away. Oops. LOL
The only time I really got mad at any of the passerby's was when one guy walks up while we are taking pictures and starts trying to cause a scene. No one was saying anything negative to him really and he's over there pointing at the rainbow in his shirt and throwing shit at us. I could understand if he was there when the guys were being assholes, but he only got there after alysa (the bride) got there. I seriously wanted to dome the fucker. Don't fuck with some one's wedding for any political reasons... Asshole!
Then was the reception.. I got kinda drunk, everyone else got blasted! Another first for me.. My first dance. (Awww, how cute.) It was sad. I had no idea what I was doing.. LOL The girl I was dancing tried to cover for me and say she didn't either. Tracy's a sweety... Weird, but sweet. I couldn't go near alysa... She made me dance with ehr every time I did... Actually I'm glad... If i didn't I would have been pissed at myself.
After that we all went back to nate's condo (The bride and groom at a hotel). It was hot. We all just kinda joked around all night. Their family is great, the made me feel very much like part of the family.
I left the next day after nate and alysa opened thier gifts. LOL at like 1 am. Damn I hate being alone for 8 hours. I really didn't wanna leave. It was wierd being part of a big family like that. Granted I wasn't, but... And I hadn't seen them in like almost 2 years. I really did/do miss them. Of course everyone made promises to visit more... Knowing damn well it won't happen. I really hate that part of good byes.. Eveyone swearing they'd write or visit, knowing they won't. LOL a bunch of his family was even saying they were gonna come visit me in NY.. LOL That would be hot, but yeah right. Well, they have madd doe so they really might just fly out arbitrarily.
Me and alysa were talking and she said that if I got into a grad school in Hawiaa she'd talk nate into moving there. LOL She's already looking for a place for all of us to live. Damn I hate goodbyes. Ya know there was another first for me on this trip but I don't remember what it was... I doubt anyone's still reading this so I doubt it matters. Either way... It was a great trip.
