Another
tf_rare_pairing weekly prompt, which was partially influenced with the idea that poker is used WAY too much, so I have Roulette.
Title: Roulette
Pairing: Ironhide/Cliffjumper
Prompt: G1: Cliffjumper/Ironhide "winner takes all"
Rating: PG
Summary: Cliffjumper gets addicted to gambling, and Ironhide sets him straight.
Warning: Some OOCness, as I don't really know their personalities that well

Ironhide was exasperated with the game that had entranced quite a number of the bots for the past couple of cycles. Sure, it had been amusing at first, but there was only so many times you could play the same game without getting bored with it, especially when the same mech kept winning. Like now.
"Black six," Smokescreen announced.
"Aww," Bumblebee whined playfully, handing his credits over to Cliffjumper over the giant Roulette table that Smokescreen had made for the Ark.
"Alright," Cliffjumper cheered, and Smokescreen laughed in response.
Ironhide held back a groan, at this rate, when they got back to their quarters, Cliffjumper would most likely not stop bragging about his winnings. It had to be stopped.
"Alright, last roll of the night mechs," Smokescreen announced. "Who's in?"
"I'm out," Bumblebee answered, and a few others nodded in agreement.
"What's wrong with all of you?" Cliffjumper asked, elated over his winning streak.
"Sorry Jumper, but I don't want to lose all my credits to you," Bumblebee joked, and the other mechs began laughing.
"Yeah, Smokey, you sure you didn't rig the game wrong?" Jazz asked in good humor, and Smokescreen sighed in fake annoyance.
"No, I didn't," Smokescreen answered, and then turned to the room at large. "Is anyone else going to place a bet?"
Ironhide decided to give in, and see what would happen. If he won, that might stop Cliffjumper's bragging.
"Alright, I'll give it a try," Ironhide conceeded, and Cliffjumper let loose a triumphant yell.
"See? He's not afraid to loose his credits to me," Cliffjumper told the room, and everyone proceeded to laugh.
Ironhide growled at the put down, he was going to put the smaller mech in his place. He fought back a grin as an idea came forth in his processor.
"How about we make this interesting, eh, Cliffjumper?" Ironhide offered, and Cliffjumper raised an optic ridge.
"What are you offering?"
"Winner takes all."
"Sounds good," Cliffjumper agreed, and then turned to Smokescreen. "My bet's 33 black."
"Black 33, okay, what's your's Ironhide?"
"I'll go with 21 red," Ironhide answered, fighting to suppress the smirk that was desperately trying to form.
The rest of the mechs gathered around the Roulette table, trying to see if Ironhide really would break Cliffjumper's winning streak.
"Alright, let's roll," Smokescreen said, and spun the wheel in one direction, and let loose the small ball that went round the wheel in the other.
The ball started of fast, but as it went around and around, it began to slow as the ridges in the wheel began to hinder it. It became harder and harder for the little ball to get to the next number, but just as it was about to stop completely, it lurched forward with a small bit of unexpected momentum, landing cleanly on 21 red.
Cliffjumper groaned, Ironhide grinned, and the rest of the bots in the Rec Room who were actually paying attention and cared gave a small cheer as Cliffjumper's winning streak was broken.
"Well, here's the credits, Ironhide," Cliffjumper conceded, handing over the stack of credits that he had won in the previous games. He really wasn't all that concerned, as he really hadn't lost that much of his own credits, it was mostly other mechs' credits that he had won.
"That's alright, I don't want your credits," Ironhide answered, walking over and slinging a servo around Cliffjumper's shoulders.
"But you're the one who suggested that the winner takes all," Cliffjumper commented, slightly confused, and Ironhide chuckled a bit.
"Yeah, I did, but I never said what 'all' the winner takes," Ironhide growled into Cliffjumper's audio, making the smaller red mech squeak in surprise.
Ironhide took advantage of the fact that Cliffjumper was momentarily stunned and began to pull the minibot out of the Rec Room.
Cliffjumper soon came to his senses, however, and began trying to break out of Ironhide's grip, only to fall forward, his pedes flying up in the air. Ironhide's servo lashed out quickly and grasped one pede firmly, and continued to drag the minibot out of the room, with said minibot giving half-sparked protests. Cliffjumper soon just let himself be dragged in the undignified and ridiculous way, knowing that when Ironhide was in a mood like this, it usually ended up fun. The laughter of the Rec Room followed them out and down the hall.
When the laughter of the Rec Room began to die down, Smokescreen dared to ask the question that every mech was thinking.
"So, who wants to tell Cliffjumper that Ironhide cheated?"
===
Yes, that's right, Ironhide cheated, and won. lol
So, those aren't the actual rules of Roulette, I took a bit of creative liberty with it, seeing as the only time I've ever played it was a computer game, and that was years ago. Hopefully it wasn't all that bad for those who really do know how to play it.
For two bots that I don't really like, I kind of like how this turned out. And while I personally hate pairing Ironhide with anyone, after writing this, I found that I like this pairing, and actually see it working. Who would've known?
