This afternoon was a leisurely drive out to John's Island to the Sea Island Savory Herb Gardens. Yep, time to load up on herbs for my garden.
I got cilantro, coriander (two ready to bolt in the next week or so, I will use them to attract the beneficial "parasitic wasps" and other garden friendly insects to help protect my plants the natural way), nasturtiums, curry plant, cuban oregano, a trailing rosemary,
white sage, and
Neopolitan (lettuce leafed) basil.
The garden is really starting to look good. I need a few more pots and a few more vegies. I really want to get enough lantana to fill the cement planter on the front porch, plus I would love to have a couple of BIG pots to grow the heirloom 'dwarf' corn.
A work in progress...and it will take a few more years...but things are so much better this year than last and we have barely begun.
