this afternoon my art history class was cancelled. i decided to trudge home with my paints and books and while walking down my street a car pulled up and a girl asked if i wanted a ride home. i then realized this person was kelsey.
for those who don't know kelsey is my old elementary school friend who moved away in grade threee but we have remained close friends even though she lives in kelowna. i hopped in her car and we drove her boyfriend to their hotel because he hadn't slept in twenty four hours. kels and i drove to nanaimo at hastings to go to the roundel cafe which was delicious. scramble tofu with spinach, onions, carrots and mushrooms, a green salad, pan-fried potatoes and toast. kels got a grilled proscuitto, tomato and cheese sandwich with a salad and we both enjoyed passion tea.
i was so happy to see her since i haven't seen her in over a year! we talked and reminisced and then drove back to port coquitlam. it's so strange though because if my class wasn't cancelled i never would have seen her. she comes down to vancouver fairly often but i'm always at work or school or out and the one time i head home early she just happens to be driving up to my house, bazaar.
today at school we did series drawings from purely abstract forms or derived from objects. i used a toy horse and it was greatly fun and relaxing. now time for painting and my media proposal.
