Yeah, I haven't posted in awhile, though. Life has been... hectic. Partly becuase the new semester has started and I've been busy with that... not that my classes right now are particularly difficult, they just take up a lot of time. Well. Except maybe my fiction writing class that might be difficult. I took the class to learn how to write, and so far it feels like the prof. has just shooed us away, saying, "Go! Write! And we'll all evaluate you!" The whole class has to read my short story, and although I have an idea, I have no idea where to take it. Ugh. I do think I'll love my media and culture class though. We're going to spend the semester evaluating media and stereotypes and the kind of culture that developes around media, so basically this class is everything I ever wanted and more. And we have to join Second Life for one project, and give up TV for a week for another; should be interesting.
No, the stress is from work. Basically my boss has been on disability leave since September and will be for the forseeable future, so everyone else is trying to pick up the slack. We're all really tired. And she promoted me to shift leader just before she left (not a position I wanted, but I got cornered into taking it because no one else was eligible) so now I have a lot more responsibility and hours I have to work. Plus now everyone is getting sick, including me, so everyone healthy or at least able to walk has to work overtime to make up for everyone who can't come in. And there is no plan to hire anyone to help, because my boss is convinced that as soon as she can come back to work, everything will be fine and dandy. Except we don't know when she can come back to work, and we need help now. Aaaaaaaargh.
Yeah, you can probably tell that I'm stressed.
On the bright side, I have an awesome family. I recently quoted Rose on my Facebook page because it seemed appropriate to how I was feeling, and instead of getting, "Suck it up, it's what the rest of us do," my family gave me this response:
Awww. (Although most of my family who have never seen Doctor Who seemed to think this was a very accurate description of my life. Not sure what that says about me lol.)
