I have officially moved! As of this past Saturday, I am completely moved into my apartment. I still have boxes & boxes - the second bedroom is almost full of book boxes - to unpack, but at least everything is here. Chavez seems to be adapting well. She's suddenly way less needy without two other cats and a dog to freak her out.
The best part about moving was that it rained for two hours on Saturday morning. Wanna guess which two hours that was? Yup, when we were moving boxes into my apt. How'd you ever guess? Sigh. But I'd hired two movers to help & it got done quickly and with little stress (thank you all of you on twitter who encouraged that!) so it was more a hilarious pain than anything awful.
So now it's time to watch the Tigers, sign up for Yuletide, and tell myself it's okay not to be unpacking ALL THE TIME I'm at home. Also to pray/bargain/rage over the NHL lockout and try to find a book to read that could possibly measure up to Code Name Verity. I finally got my hands on the copy I purchased for the library and read it last night and ...wow. It feels like the book was written just for me. I am really happy I took advice and went into the book as unspoiled as possible. Thus - if you want to read an amazing character-driven book about best friends who also happen to be a pilot & a spy for World War II UK? Code Name Verity is for you. Just don't read it in public or right before you have to be somewhere important. It's a little emotionally wrenching. A little.
