So I signed my lease and got my keys this evening! I went into the apartment half-scared that I IMAGINED ALL THE GOOD THINGS about it, but that is not the case. The kitchen is still kind of tiny - which is odd since the living room area is really big and right next to it so why didn't they extend the kitchen a little? But it totally matters not.
The bayou was gorgeous in the heavy dusk, and I'm all kinds of excited about being able to see that every day.
I'm proud of myself for putting out feelers at work about needing furniture. Actually admitting I need help? Amazing. And I'm consciously trying to state what I need. When I get the "Let me know if I can do anything to help?" I'm responding "Well, if you hear of anyone that wants to sell or get rid of a bed/couch/washer/dryer, please tell me! That would be amazing!" instead of "Oh thank you, I totally got it." Using my words and asking for assistance. Two things I am trying to get better at...
So far one of my coworkers connected me with someone who's getting rid of a bed and I have a lead on a couch. It's so exciting! I figure I can pick out stuff I really want later on, but this'll get me started. And thinking about buying a bed & couches and everything else on top of moving was starting to overwhelm me so I'm going with the easy route.
I'm moving in officially next Saturday...and the internet will be installed later that day. >.>
