I love all of you. Yes, yes, even you.

You guys. You guys. I don't even know - the response we've received about the book drive already just makes me so incredibly happy and thrilled and in love with the world. Or at least with Fandom as it manifests itself on LJ. I desperately wish that I could fly to Brisbane right now and help clean things up with my own two hands, but being able to organize this with all of you is almost as good.

My partner-in-crime Ang made it to Sharron's yesterday (uh, Saturday Australian-time) to help her gut the house and bleach the framing after the drywall's removed. There's some pictures here on Flickr that Sharron took as she got into the house for the first time. The house looks like a giant picked it up and shook it then set it back down.

At this point we have about 278 books pledged (specific titles named, that is) which is freaking amazing in the first 72 hours or so. We have about ten authors who are donating their books including Jim Hines, Charles DeLint, Seanan McGuire, C.E. Murphy, Tanya Huff, Christopher Moore and a bunch of others that I can't remember right now. As the books come in, I'll update you guys on that. But seriously, if you have extra money? Buy these authors' books to help thank them for being so wonderful. I can vouch for the awesomeness of writing of every one of them. If you don't have extra money maybe ask your library to buy a copy of their books cause, hey, that'll help expose more people to their work.

If you missed the original book drive post, it's right over here and there's still plenty of time to join in. Take a look at the spreadsheet to see if there's anything you can help with.

Thank you all so much for being so amazing, caring, awesome people. I have a feel I'm going to be saying that a lot in the next few weeks, and I kind of love that.
