1. Not the best sentences I read this week, but certainly the most mysterious. Re: the genus Helichrysum:
Their leaves are oblong to lanceolate. They are flat and pubescent on both sides. The bristles of the pappus are scabrous, barbellate, or plumose.
Well, yes, clearly!

2. Sharing a snippet from my latest WIP, because I haven't shared snippets in a while and I'm kind of in love at the moment.
For a long minute she lies there, breathing hard, listening to him do the same. Feeling the urge to smooth his hair, to tuck her head under his chin and rest her palm on his chest, over his racing heart.
"You still there?" she says at last.
"Where else would I be?"
"I don't know, I'm pretty amazing. I have to make sure you're still with us."
"I hope to god if I ever die from sex, I'm not alone at the time."
"Hah. You and me both."
