lionizing.

Some background informationI've seen conservative bloggers ranting about how wrong it is for the liberals to "lionize" George Tiller and declare him a hero, when what he really was is a murderer ( Read more... )

Abortions are sad, but a necessary medical procedure in some cases. I always find it so hypocritical how some people can be so opposed to it while still being against measures that can prevent cases where abortion is an alternative (better birth control ( ... )

It's even more impressive when you look into his history and see how it all happened.

His father secretly performed abortions back when it was illegal; he started after a patient of his died after he refused to perform an abortion on her.

Tiller took over the business after both his parents died in a plane crash. He could easily have gone into another specialty and been safe and financially comfortable, but he chose this because he knew that women needed his help.

That's some storybook heroing there.

I tried to rant about this last night but I think I was all worn out from crying from reading stories of his compassion and hearing about how dangerous his life was. And now there is only one more person out there.

The only good thing is it seems that Obama may be finally calling this terrorism.

I just really hate when these women who have named their kids and started putting his or her room up are painted as lazy whores who waited eight months to get an abortion.

I'm really tired so I don't want to post a long reply, but I wanted to say thank you, because this so rarely gets said.

I've seen anti-abortion protestors around here, and they almost always use disturbing and graphic photographs of partial birth abortions, despite the fact that Canadian law is as strict as the US in this regard.

(not to mention that it's totally disrespectful and relies entirely on shock value)
