surprises, pain, my favorite "witch", and better than Tom and Jerry...sort of

Got a nice surprise visit from June and Patrick, yesterday, while I was working. I felt like shit, but it put a smile on my face.

Today, though, the pain is worse in my lower right side. There's rebound pain. I have to keep tabs on that. However, there is no fever, so THAT is good.
Nausea and cold sweats hit every so often.
Thankfully, I only work 'til two.
Thankfully, I have been sleeping well...despite nightmares. Although I feel I'm sleeping too much. I'm just so exhausted.
I'm going to try and get on my treadmill today. I'll probably stand on it and say, "Okay...I got on it." Then...I'll get off of it...
It seems that the Advil is at least helping my lower back...slightly. Hey! I'll take what I can get.

Anyway, I finished "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West". I thought it was wonderful. I've read some reviews and some did not like it because some things were not answered. That's why I liked it. It makes you think. Some said that the meeting with Dorothy was anti-climatic. What did they want? A sword fight?! Most of us know how the "witch" dies. But it was the tragedy behind it all. The wanting of forgiveness; not being able to forgive one's self. Trying to do the right things, yet they always seemed to backfire. I understood Elphaba. I felt for her. I thought it was superbly written. I couldn't put it down. And now...I'm sad it's over.
So, I started Maguire's next book, "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister". This, too, seems like it will be a good read...but...I will always have a deep love for "Wicked".

My ratty girls are doing swell. They are a handful. Well, actually, TWO handfuls.
I took, one at a time, last week, to my stairs that lead to the basement, and let them run up and down them. Jadis takes her time. Ju Ju is FAST. Dock (our cat) likes to sit on the stairs and swat at them as they go by.
But...
Dock decided he was going to have a bit o' fun.
While Ju Ju was working her way up the stairs, Dock decided to hide around the corner at the top. He'd peek around every so often. The closer Ju Ju got, the more Dock's tail beat against the floor...the more his eyes got wider and his ears got flatter.
And just as he heard Ju Ju's little claws on the tile at the top of the stairs....
Dock leapt out and landed right in front of Ju Ju as if to yell, "HA HA!"
Ju Ju shit on the spot.
Dock just walked away... his work done.
And though I felt bad for Ju Ju, I was in tears laughing.
I picked her up and gave her a few kisses and pet her - between giggles, of course - then I put her back in her cage to let her recover.
The next day she was riding on top of Dock's back!
Why can't I have my camera handy for this stuff?!
