Invisible Children
By Annie Shum
Invisible Children started out as a documentary film about the twenty year war that is happening over in Uganda. 67,871 people joined together around the nation on April 28th, 2007 to help support this cause. The money collected from this charity goes to help rebuilding African lives in Northern Uganda by building schools and wells.
20,000 children were displaced in their camps. In other words, they were abducted by their own government and forced to fight. They used to have a village. It may not be much, but it was something to call a home. When Hurricane Katrina struck, people living in New Orleans have experienced what it is like to be displaced. Now imagine what it is like to not have a place you can call home for ten years.
Events like these make us grateful for the lives that we have. As human beings, we should reach out and help others. Please donate money to the Invisible Children Fund at:
https://secure.invisiblechildren.com/donate/ . The money can be as little as a dollar. We may not think a dollar is a lot of money, but it is money to help send relief to the children of Uganda. Let’s join the cause around the world to speak out for those that can't!
