Avast, ye sundry scoundrels! Heave to an' prepare to be boarded! 'Tis the feared Black Rabbit, with her crew of Dread Pirate Wabbits, an' they be here to relieve you of your tea and scones!

What?

What are you talking about, of course they're dread! Can't you see the skull-and-crossed-spoons flag? And the waving cutlasses? No tea-grog, though, because the Dread Pirate Wabbits think that rum tastes fould, and would never defile good tea that way.

The ears, you say? But they're full of earrings! and notches!

Okay, we concede the whiskers may be slightly cute.

And the tails.

But they're still Dread Pirate Wabbits!

Oh, fine. Have it your way. But "Cute Fuzzy Pirate Wabbits" just doesn't have the same ring. The Debateably Dread Pirate Wabbits are going to go sulk now.

They've taken your tea. And your scones.

Happy Talk Like A Pirate Day to all! My extended family is so cool it's marked on our family calendar, with a picture of one of my cousins impersonating Cap. Jack Sparrow. :D I don't have a pirate icon, though (a serious failing) so instead I'll use my Feegle icon. They're similarly law-unabiding and appropriately drunk.

In other news, today I made cookies (oatmeal raisin chocolate chip, with a few leftover walnuts) and worked on cosplay with Jake. There was a lot of trying not to stab me while pinning things onto the sweater I was wearing, but I escaped unscathed.

I am slightly annoyed that the Kdrama on Hulu that I wanted to watch is no longer there. *hissss*

Yesterday afternoon I drove up to SF to hang out with my soon-to-be-married cousin for part of her bachelorette party. Earlier in the day they had gone wine tasting, which is not quite my thing on account of that whole not-drinking bit, and later that night they were heading out to a club - also really not my thing. But in between they were hanging out and getting dinner, and I was all for that! It was fun. They were late getting back from wine tasting, so I called Hamsters and spent almost 40 minutes on the phone with her, catching up on gossip. :D Which was AWESOME!(Hamsters, when I mentioned this to Jake he said something like, "Oh, I told her we might go to Hawai'i in November, because the trade show is in November, not December. Did I tell you that?" and I was very amused. So yes! There are plans kind of afoot, I think!) And then there was a penis cake, much to my cousin's amusement, and some sparkly lingerie from her sister, who will not be here for the bridal shower. This was followed by dinner at an Italian restaurant, during which we amused (and traumatized?) our server and the rest of the staff with various penis-shaped paraphernalia, including a giant inflatable penis with a terrifying grin on the head. A grin which, now that I think about it, kind of reminds me of some of the faces on WW2 fighters. Basically, my other cousin, the one who was organizing everything, went to Spencer's and bought everything I wouldn't let Wombats and company buy for me. XD And then I drove home, and didn't get lost, which was kind of exciting considering that I have no idea how to get around downtown SF. Maps are my friend!

There was a 30% chance of rain today, but the clouds didn't deliver, much to my disappointment. They just floated over, teasing. It rained at the Ancestral residence, too, as even the goat informed me on Facebook. *sigh*

I still have a bunch of Dreamwidth invites, if people are interested, WHICH YOU ALL SHOULD BE! Mostly because open-source is cool, and my Dreamwidth account needs more going on. There are no horrendously annoying popup ads! No ads at all, in fact! And it's reeaallly simple to transfer all of your lj entries over to your Dreamwidth account. *looks beseechingly at people*
