I just stumbled upon a really, really well-written meta on Compartmentalization and RPF. It was written last year, so many of you have probably seen it, but it encapsulates the difference between reading say, a Harry Potter fic, and a Fall Out Boy fic so well that I had to link to it, just so I know I can always find it again.
