I cannot believe I will be teaching third grade next week. Amazing. I have been in and out of my classroom the past week setting up bulletin boards and meeting my kids and my staff. It's weird. I think I'm going to love working at this school. Everyone has been so nice and helpful.
As a rookie teacher, I've already gotten roped into doing lots of extra curriculuar stuff. Afterschool latch-key everyday from 3-6, working the golf fundraiser, teaching french to the 7th/8th grade and possibly coaching 8th grade softball. Hopefully this year won't be too stressful, but i'm not counting on it.
Erik and I are alright. He has been really busy with his new house and I've been busy with teacher stuff. we haven't seen much of each other. I don't know if we are growing apart or just been busy. Oh well, I try not to dwell on things too much.
This weekend I drove up to St Claire Shores to hang out with Jackie and Amanda. We had a really good time at an Eastside bar and restaurant on Saturday night. Sunday was jackie's wedding shower. I was there all day setting up and cleaning up. They got so much stuff it's ridiculous. Their apartment is really cute. I had a good time with Jackie. I miss living with her, she was a good roommate. I can't believe she is getting married next month. Jeez. It seems like yesterday we were at the downtown hoedown and she was meeting grant for the first time.
Time sure does fly.
