(no subject)
So student teaching has been going well so far. The first week had a snow day, which is always great fun! I had a break to just lay in bed the whole day and watch sex and the city with my sister.
So I started teaching math the first week of my student teaching. Is this normal? I thought I wouldnt take over a subject until like the 3rd week. So I've almost taught a whole chapter so far. It is advanced math for 5th grade and they worked through a whole chapter in the book in less than a week. With the snow day. They are so smart that it is easy to teach them. Good thing I am decent at math and remember my decimals and fractions!
I have a seminar with my supervisor tomorrow, so I will only be teaching for a half day. I guess this is when I will be setting up my visits for when he comes to observe me. The more I get to know the students, the less nervous I get. I just have to be tough with them. They love to socialize and try to get me to let them do something that their not supposed to. I am catching on to the rules though.
This weekend, Beth wants me to go up north with her and a bunch of her friends. She wants to hook me up with this guy Steve. Apparently, he is a year older than me, working on his doctoral degree in engineering at U of M, and is very hot. I have trouble believing this. If he was that good of a guy, he would be taken already. So I can't decide if I should go or not. I have to tell her by Thursday. What do you guys think?
I had a good time last weekend hanging out in Ypsi with all my old roommates and Nicky! I also applied for graduation! I thought I would never see that day! I got to go to eat and shopping with Nick. Thanks for helping me pick out a new bra at Victoria's Secret :)
I had fun Saturday going to Flat Rock and watching Ian's band play. I'm glad that I had time to relax and hang out with my friends.
