Yesterday I started a new workshop which looks promising. It's called "dramatisation of prose" (or the correct English equivalent, anyway) but we started with a couple of creative writing exercises, the first of which was to write the rant against the sky of an astronaut lost in space. I started by putting down on my page "John Crichton", and went on writing feverishly for that character and Ben Browder's voice *draws ♥ around Ben Browder's performances*. Even with only ten minutes' time I wrote two full pages longhand (more than many others) and it came out decent enough. As soon as I was done reading it aloud, the professor asked me if I had visualised a particular setting, or actor, or character for it ;-P and so I mentioned Mr. Browder and Farscape, but I don't think he knew them. Another girl said she had visualised Bruce Willis in "Armageddon", and another had written a very surreal tale that was The Little Prince (Only With A Little Girl Instead Of The Prince) which was rather baffling.
But! This did send me down the path of reminicence (ah, Farscape!) of, er... actually last summer is when I watched the series the first time, but I was still rather nostalgic. Oh, John Crichton! You suffer so beautifully you're such a h/c dream come true!
And it did remind me that I've found a wonderful set of fics for this series that I never recced. It's a series of episode tags/missing scenes that cover the entire first season, so there a bit too many to rec individually, but I loved reading every single one of them, even when the summary didn't entice me much. They're wonderfully well written and characterised, and whole heartedly reccomended. Check out
