Kripke is a clever little bastard

Like we didn't already know that, right? There's an article on BuddyTV that talks about the new developments of the story as seen in the premiere that makes me nod nod nod in approval. Word. Have the link. However there's a little spoiler for next week's episode (though nothing you don't actually expect to see if you've seen the premiere), so I'm quoting the most important part under the cut:

"We have a firm belief in the cosmology of this show that evil, in terms of demons, etc, is very tangible and real and out there.  Angels and supernatural forces of good are much more elusive.  But in my opinion - and the opinion of the writers - if God is out there, he isn't sending angels to fight the battles; he's working through a very human, sweaty, outgunned and overwhelmed group of hunters.  For us, these are the angels.  I think the point that's very important to us to make is that the forces of good work through humans who are flawed and imperfect and trying to make the right decisions.  And that's the way God works.  So we try to present that." Eric Kripke, Nov 2007

Well, wouldn't you know. Look at the wording. He didn't say "there are no angels, ever, will never be, so there", but that's how everyone (including yours truly) interpreted it, and ranted about (including yours truly) and demanded to know why the rum is gone the hell not?

You know, apart from everything else, I predict that the most lasting effect of this new addition will be the ginormous amount of wing!fic/manips that will plague the interwebs from now on.

Ps Can we keep Castiel? I even hunted down the actor on various websites (he's not even credited on IMDB! wtf?) to see where he's appeared before and, *giggles* that would be amongst others on NCIS as a cowardly scum bag, but a totally hot one :-P
