Performance for Philippine National Day
So last night was my first "big" performance with Kababayang Pilipino of BC. I play in the band (called the Rondalla), on an instrument (a Bandurria), which looks a little like a mandolin, but has 14 strings... and it was fun!
I had to wear a garish "hazard yellow" spanish dress, and put my hair up in a bun (using fake hair, because mine is so short and fine), and wear crazy makeup (I didn't like the dress and makeup part so much).
I only had to fake play during one song, and I don't think I was nervous, so much as I was kinda sweaty (synthetic material + 3 layers of it + hot stage lights = really hot).

I wanted to post a photo of me and my sis, but the person who took it hasn't yet uploaded it, so that will have to wait. In the meanwhile, I'll post one of me, in a less ugly dress, with my bandurria... practicing in a shower. This performance was for a wedding held at a rowing club, so the performers' dressing room was really the locker room.
Okay, so not a complete rock star, but pretty badass anyway (hehehe). I'll make sure to update photos when I get them.
