This past Wednesday I went in to work at the normal time, expecting a laid back, eventless day. There was a big meeting at work that day, and I didn't need to be apart of it. When my manager stepped out of the meeting, I got a great idea, so I went over and told him I was going to take the rest of the day off. He saw no problem with it.
I left at 10:30, and believe me, I was smiling. When I got home, I got out of my white jump-suit, interrupted Anne's typing fingers, and took her out to a gourmet lunch at Burger King. In order to avoid the stupid people that would surely accompany us at a dine-in experience, we took our food to the park. That is our normal routine.
I next took off to Muncie in Mark's truck. I took it to Menard's and picked out a piece of oak ply-wood for my cabinet. The rest of my afternoon was spent in the garage, tearing off the back of the cabinet and fitting in the new piece. I finished up and went inside around supper time to spend the rest of the evening with Anne. It was the best part of my day.
