Ten Resolutions!

Last day of the year already, huh?  Man, how time flies.  I thought I would take a moment to write out my fannish resolutions for the new year in hopes that it will make them more likely to actually happen.  :)

I bet you'll finish more than just Egeria's Legacy and this time next year you'll be able to look at this list and be really pleased with how many you accomplished. And as for #4, I vote for Vancouver in March. Hey, you're going to have to get on a plane, so what difference does it make if it's 2 hours or 12?

buwhahah. Maybe only a difference of 14 hours or so....but what about cost? :P How about Shore Leave?

I sure hope I feel accomplished at the end of next year. I am a bit trepidatious about this year, being the end of the show. Hopefully the movies coming out in the fall will sustain fandom for a little longer. No other fandom has grabbed my attention, so I don't know what I would do if everyone ran off for a new shiny. :)

Oh, the XF fandom (and my love for it) is still going strong and there were no movies, just nine, lovely seasons. I think you'll find a core group of us hanging around for quite some time.

Party hard? What is this? I'll be in bed before too long curled up with a good book. I'm an old fart, dontchya know? ;)

Hmmm...not that great of guests though. I've heard the DVD commentaries by Gary Jones. I don't think I need more of that. Lol. What are the other major conventions? Remember, I am a complete noob. The only two I have ever heard of are Shore Leave and the one in Vancouver.

Maybe they are out there, but I haven't seen too many Moebius fics dealing with the original SG-1 in Egypt.

They're mainly on the slash side, I think. You get more of the "they killed off our team!" angst over there. We S/J fans tend to be too busy squeeing.

Yes! Another reason to finish it! I hadn't thought about people waiting to read it. :)

I can see how the original Moebius team might be fertile angst ground for the slashers. SJers were all too busy writing cabin!porn. But my mind just couldn't stop thinking about what led up to Daniel being there all alone. And Jack and Sam were so damn pissy at each other when they realized they would have to stay in Egypt. I thought that was interesting.

These are excellent fannish resolutions. I will read the Cassie-fic, if only because I'm sure it will be intriguing. She can be quite a good character when she tries.

And about Moebius--If it makes you feel any better, I always think of the team at the beginning as the secondary team--after all, "our" team stays around. Or something. Actually, I generally try not to think about it too much, because time-travel in movies gives me headaches. And I have seen a whole lot of S/J fic about that team, either, so I'd be glad to read more...
