So, my writing continues to either be non-existent or just plain terrible. But I have started having fannish dreams, you know, the ones where you wake up and are totally convinced the dream needs to be turned into a story right now. So that's fun at least, even if they are inevitably too insane to be fic. The latest one I had was a Leverage dream.
So. Parker and Nate are on the grift in an airport. Their mark is a woman (something about magazines and advertising and Parker gesturing large about the importance of color and POP). Now why in the world Parker would be taking the lead grifting, I have no idea. She wasn't doing such a bad job either, even though she's nervous about it. Nate is smug and arrogant about how well she's doing (And probably drunk, if there's any fidelity to character in my dreams.) Anyway, after a while, Parker has to get up and go somewhere else to stay in character and she sneaks (steals) a phone from someone, and even though she knows she's not supposed to, she makes a call because she's secretly freaked out about the grifting. She calls Hardison. And he picks up and is like, "Hey, Parker. Is everything okay?" And Parker just sort of breathes out, and doesn't know why she feels better, just knows she does. And Hardison is all, "Whoever's idea it was to run this con without earbuds is a lunatic, I'm telling you," and Parker smiles and tells him about the con and how well she is doing, and Hardison is all proud and tells her he isn't surprised, and she beams and goes back to the con. It gets fuzzy after that, though at some point it seemed important to establish that Parker's character is a maneater, so Hardison magically appears and they have to go make out. The end.
So, yeah. Those are my weird, freakish dreams.

But while I have you here, a list some SG-1 fic to read:
Zephyr by
gabolange (SG-1, Sam, Gen)
“Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art ... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.” -C.S. Lewis. The future comes to pass, and Sam reflects.
Really nice look at a future for Sam, and the ways the team is always a team, no matter how much time has passed.
Lines of Symmetry by
mrspollifax (SG-1, Vala, Gen)
Five universes where Vala wasn't the mother of the Orici.
Lovely, painful, awesome possibilities. See fic for warnings.

Oh, and I finally saw X-Men: First Class this weekend. And while I found the movie laughably cheesey, I have already found fic that surpasses the source material.
Kick At The Darkness Till It Bleeds Daylight by
penknife (XMFC, ensemble gen)
Some days, it actually feels like they're doing something right.
Shed Your Skin by
penknife (XMFC, Raven, Charles, Gen)
Three times Raven made herself look like Charles Xavier, and one time she didn't.

Now, who else is watching Necessary Roughness?
Dani/Nico, AM I RIGHT?
