I just finished watching the miniseries Pillars of the Earth. (I have really meant to read the book over and over again, but being ill and tied to the couch and blessed with streaming netflix, I could no longer resist.) While the series over all had more blood and guts and rampant whoring than I would have liked, I was over all incredibly impressed

I love Sharon Kay Penman's books - on a whim I friended her on Facebook and it's awesome. She does all these great thinky posts about history, talks about her writing, and as she is friends with other writers I adore, you end up discussing history with some of my literary heroes. I get a wee bit giddy especially when they say I have good points!

Also adding this to Netflix.

Very cool! I've had Sunne in Splendor on my to read list for a while. I loved her Welsh series too. Even if I wanted to smack Joanna from time to time.
