Today was nice. I got in a little bit of everything I like to do in a day, outside of lacrosse. As usual I watched a bit of West Wing in the morning. Today's episode was one of those that just made you wish that everyone watched that show. It was one of the finales i think, and i hadnt seen it since it came on like 2 years ago, and didnt really remember it. It was one of mil's favourites and wow, it really was so good. It was one of those where you just watch and stay silent. Something goes wrong in teh episode at the end, and in the background they play "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley. It made the episode. I downloaded it afterwards and it theres something calming about his voice, but becasue of what remember watching it makes me so sad. so download worthy. definitely on the "dont listen to while depressed" list of songs. I am glad i caught it -so thanks for the point out mil!
sigh...
Anyways, Millie and I volunteered downtown at BenTaub hospital to register voters. The poor gal, 5 days afte her surgury and she still looks like a chipmunk. Less so than last week though, which is good. We actually got our shift wrong adn the lady called mil on her cell and was really not to hapy about it, but we took over at 2 and stayed til 4. there was a lady there who had actually been to the convention in Boston. She was so sweet, and very core. She was so excited to see such young girls out helping, this fort bend judge even came up to us in the middle of the lobby to shake our hands and say thank you, he was really impressed that we were threr and so young. it felt so great. the people before us were really successful. they had registered at least 100 people to vote. i got another like 25, millie got loads, it was just very... i dont know... gratifying. And everyone was so nice, knowing that we werent selling things but trying to sign people up to help get the vote out and stuff. we were walking back to our car and were just happy with ourselves, its a great feeling when ou leave something like that. we get to work again on thursday at gallery furniture, so im actually looking forward to that.
tonight i had a dinner with the band kids, and it was fun. dyanne had been gone all summer so i went out and brought her some daiseys as a welcome home, and split them, because steve had broken up with his girlfriend, and from his away messages, was having a really bad time. so he got flowers too. :) it was nice to see everyone. haha i registered rebecca and dyanne to vote at the table at dinner and at starbucks, it was so funny. kind of weird at the table, knowing that they were probably all going for the other party (outside of dear charlie) but thats how it goes. millie had a good question today, pondering which way the people that are very connected to religion and faith would vote. she had registered a nun at the hospital and we talked about it in the car. would they vote democrat, out of concern for the underpriviledged and the poor? or would they vote republican against the gay rights and pro life? that must be a trying question for a really religious person. you kind of have to play both sides, which a lot of people do, but still, can be quite a big decision. hm. good question...
so good day. good slice of tv, spent time with my best friend, had dinner with a bunch of great peeps, and did something nice and cute and special for someone. and i volunteered. nice. good. makes me happy at the end of the day.
i got this journal for lik 6 bucks at francescas the other day, with a great quote on the cover. a new addition to the favourites list.

and the most gratifying thing i get from is that is that i do just that. heck i spoil friends, i love generously (AND I LOVE DOING IT!). and when friends do something incredible, i praise them loudly (at least i think i do, tell me if you need more praising) and i live fully. as fully as i can i guess. probably not to its full extent, but i try my best. and that makes me happy.
today was good. i really enjoyed it.
talk to ya later kids
and REGISTER TO VOTE!
