So its been two weeks since or so since i last updated...many apologies (i am surprised i havent recieved death threats from ms. "i have bad ocd" erickson) and have decided that i need to split this entry up a bunch. soooooo lets start from the beginning!
June 18 to the 20th: New Orleans!!
Hahhahah okay so Julian came to visit!!! completely wonderful. Was kind of concerned though. See, the plane ticket was a lot cheaper if he flew into new orleans as opposed to houston because he got here on air miles, which was actuallyperfect cos my mo really wanted him to see the city and some of the familt, etc. But the flight her got arrived in new orleans at like 6 at night, and we werent able to leave houston til 11 because my mom had to work, so we werent sure if we could make it to the airport in time. So dad caught a plane to new orleans and planned it so he would get to the airport 5 minutes before julian landed ad they would meet in baggage claim if we didnt get there in time. (dad had to fly regardless because he couldn't take off the friday due to cruise) That ended up actually being an ingenious plan, we were only 15 minutes behing them, and dad was able to find him etc. The funniest thing was that we had put all of the luggage in the back of the van and hadnt put enough seats up! so as we pull up to the airport my moms like "well anne your just goig to have to sit on the poor boys lap. im sure he will just HATE that right off the bat!" freaking hilarious. he statred making fun of me the second we were in the car, my parents were in HEAVEN.
We pulled up ad i tell you it was way too weird seeing him. I dont know why, but i actually said to my mom "this feels so weird. like i cant even tell you. its just...weird..." i just.. did know how to feel?? i dont know if thats a good thing but i dont know, wasnt exactly used to it lol...
So we went back to my cousins house and he met Laurie and Robbie (cousin and her hubby) and Sam (baby girl...cutest thing on earth!) adn we all went out to eat at Drago's for barbequed oysters...mmmmm soo ridiculously good. and hes the kind of guy who will try anything and ahhh is just great like that, and he loved it. then everyone just chilled at home and we ended up watching Love Actually with my cousins.
Saturday we woke up early and went to the french quarter and got the boy some good ole beignets (mmm) and just shopped around and went through a bunch of the art galleries and had drinks etc til 2, then took him to the BEST SANDWICH PLACE ON EARTH (millie can attest) for po boys. he was very impressed. then was sailing with our friends Cathy, Raymond, Chris, and Scott along with mom dad and the pod until dark. It was so much fun, just sailing around lake pontchartrain and drinking beer. ahhhhh. mom went freaking INSANE behind the scenes once sunset hit, good god Hahaha! julian and i were sitting up at the front of the boat and mom had stolen my camera and was snapping pics every 4 seconds without us knowing... but im glad in the end cos they are cute :) then went out to eat seafood again (i swear we didnt stop eating the entire weekend, it was ridiculous).
Sunday we went out on the sailboat again but they brought along their powerboat as well so we could go skiing and tubing etc. was a blast, wasnt able to ski though...i didnt want to screw up my back again post 3 months of physio and another 3 of healing. so i stuck to the tubing. then ate once again and went to meet the grandparents for a bit. very interesting. poor boy survived though! then drove the long drive back to houston, with everyone completely exhausted and still full from friday nights dinner.
June 21st - 26th: Houston!
Monday: slept way way WAY in. i am so glad i dont have a real job that i had to go to in the morning. we just watched tv for most of the day and then - DUM DUM DUM!!! the wife was called and it was the TIME TO MEET MILLIE. yes, the imfamous "hot girl on anne's wall," namer of Sparky himself, author of every text message on thursday mornings at 8 30 am and every other time in canadian history, and that dreaded creature who, on hearing of the hookup simply stated " BOY, I SQUAT MORE THAN I WEIGH.KEEP THAT PICTURE IN YOUR MIND. YOU ANSWER TO ME BITCH." sigh... god love her.... the fateful moment had finally arrived. aahahhahahah! i cant tell you how freaking much i wanted him to meet her. i could give a shit if the parents actually liked the boy, if the wife didnt approve, there would have been trouble. there would have been a wwf smackdown at the dinner table, yes sireeeee. LOL. no but seriously i was interested to see how it would go down (not in a worried way lol) and it was great. we all just had a blast together at dinenr and it was pretty much just like we had all known eachother for months...which was just how i wanted it, as millie is apparently the "lovely bonus gift" that came with the girlfriend.:) we just had a great laugh through dinenr, consoling millie on her weekend, where she was hit on by a lesbian lacrosse coach from maryland. it was fucking hilarious. anyone who knows us can imagine THAT dinner conversation with my family. see, at my house we are very cultured people, and this is what we talk about. how to ward off unwanted lesbian lovers. classic. its all i can say. classic classic classic. lol then the three of us all went upstairs to my room and we just sat there talking and laughing for like 2 hours. the first thing julian said when she left to go home was lol "oh my god, as if THAT GIRL could ever complain about not finding a guy. thats just ridiculous, i just dont understand it, a girl liek that having trouble with GUYS. who the hell goes she hang out with????" so millie, incase you were wondering, he raved about you for a good half hour :)
Then the next day we all tried to go to sushi and ended up getting there 1 minute after they closed for lunch, then tried beni hanas, also closed, and ended up at pf changs for chinese. then we just hung around the mall and bought some stuff, then went back to millies and had fuzzy navels and made julian meet oug and bonnie and the whole canter clan (who i have since heard also approved) and then headed back home. All in all we spent a good part of mon and tues with millie and had a blast. so much fun. such a great feeling. you always want your best friend to like your boyfriend, and we just all got on great.
(Millie i realised after getting off aim with u earlier (tues or mon) that i think u were talking about a different part of my profile. if u were talking about the bottom about the best friend comment, it was about that. for all those who missed it, "omg i have the best friend in the whole freaking world") lol alot of people have friends who just despise their boyfriends and i have the one who completely gets along with him. cue sigh.
also of note, it also hit me 3 days after the car ride to the woodlands where we were all discussing the "phonecalls" from your admirer to realise you had the perfect response the entire freakin time. just respond: I AM ALREADY MARRIED!
done. end of story and problem. LOL
We then drove straight to la hacienda so he could meet all the band kids, which was good, no one had seen eachother (as always, anne is ALWAYS the one getting everyone together again. i am proud of that :) and i think everyone enjoyed themselves, so thats good. julian says you guys are all really great people, and to chris g and bryan he had a blast talking with you guys. thank you boys! and everyone else who showed up for dinner, i think we ended up with about 10 or 12 so it was great. you guys all made him feel really welcome.
MOVING ON!
Wednesday:
took julian uptown to see the galleria. we parked at the lord and taylor end so i could take him to Saks 5th Avenue and see the jewelry i had drawn. i had never seen it either, and it was so exciting. the lady came up to us asking if we needed help and i told her i was the designers draftsman..and i dont think she believed me :/ hahah oh well! i know i did it :) so yeah we went and just walked for a while, had a really good lunch at the cheesecake factory, and then headed home in the worst traffic ever. we left at 430, which was a huge mistake, we were in trafic for at least an hour and a half and were supposed to get home change and jet off to summer league, but the parents didnt want me to go because i was too tired. and it ended up being cancelled cos of rain in the end anyways, so i wasnt too put out. i was still pissed though because he has never been able to see me play and i really wanted him to see, because i dont think theres going to be a chance for him to next year. sigh... so depressing. we rented mystic river and watched that, good acting, bad accents (according to millie, our future bostonian) hahah STAHbucks, KAHfee ;) we were all practicing all week. Then cait and wallis came over to meet julian adn that was v cool.
Thursday
Well we were supposed to go to schlitterbahn for the day but because of the freak rain storms the past one million days, we had to stay home. we pretty much just spent the day in and watched tv. i made him watch my west wings etc, which he said "wow if i actualy like, knew what was going on here, i think i would enjoy this show" YES! the brainwash is complete!!! *cackles* then at 9pm my favourite tv host of all time's new show started up again on tv. yes, i am talking about the genius that is Graham Norton. god love him. i must warn you though, he is hilarious, raunchy, and the word "censoring" is not in his vocabulary. i love him. NATHAN YOU HAVE TO WATCH!! you have been waiting a year and now its finnaly on a network u get! comedy central thursdays at 9, hollaaaaa
oooh we also saw dodgeball which was hilarious. it was liek they had taken the punchline from every residence conversation over the past year and had twisted into a movie script, completely hilarious.i miss friday night midnight dodgeball :)
Ms. staff also came by to pay a visit, because she hadnt met the boy yet, and we talked for like an hour or so, which was great cos i hadnt seen her in way too long. and also got the dirt on how cozumel was.
friday:
dont remember much of friday??? spent most of it packing for my cruise, and then we got dressed all nice like and went to dinner downtown at grotto (ohhh so good) and met per, etc. was a very fun night. that week went by freaking fast i cant even tell ya. but it was so much fun. weird having him in texas still, but so great having him be able to meet all the poeple in my everyday life.
ALRIGHT thats pretty much everything i can remember two weeks later. have to run now, will talk about the cruise later :)
