Ten reasons finals week isn't That Bad

Dec 15, 2003 16:18

1. You have an entire week during which you will probably have two or three actual exams and some papers/projects due. This actually gives you a lot of Free Time, especially if your last final is early in the week. This allows lots of room for the Creativity.

2. Fate is benevolent, so you can blow your study time making stupid oekaki and still do fine on the exam. *whistles innocently*

3. The Return of the King comes out in the middle of it.

4. Everyone is studying. No wait, hear me out! It's really awesome on campus when everyone is studying because everyone's going through the same thing. Everyone is nice to everyone else. Classmates actually talk to each other. Teachers hold impromptu review sessions in the coffee shops. It's really... nice.

5. Christmas can't possibly be that far away.

6. Adrenalin high!

7. All you have to do is mention the word "finals" to your boss/parents/other authority figures and they immediately back away like vampires from holy water. It gives you a great excuse to take a week off work.

8. Late-night study sessions are actually pretty fun. The later, the sillier, and the sillier, the better.

9. Procrastinating studying makes you do lots of neat things. Mysteriously, my room will get cleaned, my stories will get worked on, I'll break out the graphics tablet again, I'll get around to updating my journal (*cough*), fix my web page, do work work, etc. etc.

10. Somehow, you get through it, like you always do. There's no better feeling than 'ahhh... it's over.'
