Title: Bullet
Fandom: Iron Man/The Incredible Hulk/Avengers/Marvel
Rating: T
Disclaimer: If I owned it, the gay would be way more obvious.
Summary: As Bruce steps towards Tony, he hears the ice again.
Note: Would highly recommend seeing The Avengers before reading, as otherwise it'll make like no sense. Also, would recommend seeing it in general.
Note 2: Some previous events are left unbelievably vague in this piece. This is a conscious artistic decision, made for the very good reason that I'm too lazy to work out a backstory.
Bullet
When Bruce walks into the lab, the lights are out, and he doesn't see any movement, but he knows Tony is here, and so he starts talking. "I was wondering where you'd gotten off to," he says, moving slowly around cars, tables, chairs, equipment, whatever it is that Tony fills his life with.
The soft clink of ice in a glass send him towards the ratty sofa in the corner of the room, led by Tony's slightly scratchy voice. "What can I say? I'm predictable." As Bruce steps towards Tony, he hears the ice again.
Tony is lit by the nearby monitor, eerie blue light dancing across his face and sparkling in his drink. Of course he has a drink. Bruce moves to the monitor, changes a few things, pretending he's more interested in radiation levels than in everything that's happened, or how much Tony's changed since everything went south. Eventually, he licks his too-dry lips and speaks. "I guess you got thirsty again," he says carefully, trying not to come off as accusing.
Tony just grins, pouring himself another drink without looking. The smile doesn't reach his eyes. "Just think of it as a bullet in my mouth."
