Christmas and Tintin both make me happy
Well, my Christmas fic project is slightly on hold, simply because I'm a bit stumped for parts of it, so instead of posting it a bit at a time, I'll just post it all at once as soon as I finish it. Shouldn't be too long, I promise. :D
Anyways, this is actually my Christmas report/Tintin flail post. So! Christmas report first!
It was pretty damn awesome, guys. From my family, I got some candy, colored pencils (Crayolas, so nothing too fancy, but still awesome!), a check for seventy-five dollars from my dad, a scratch-off lottery card from my dad too (as usual, my mother won five bucks and the rest of us got nothing), this CD, a lovely Gryffindor scarf that my mom knitted, garlic olive oil, garlic pepper (I like garlic, okay?), a lefty journal (I'm left-handed, by the way, in case I've never mentioned) with facts and quotes about lefties, and it opens the other way, and a poo log. The poo log is awesome. It has facts about poo, and a chart to rate your latest effort, and a place to note how long it took, and a place for a sketch, and it really annoys my mother in a hilarious sort of way. Nobody ended up in a fight, for once, which made it even better!
Then Aries gave me two of those aerated Hershey bars, and also a pair of scissors where the holes look like the eyes of a frog. I can't find a picture of them online, but I might get a photo of them later if I remember. And just now, my dad came into the room with an envelope for me, and secret_smile19 sent me a cute kitty card with a Starbucks card in it! Thank you sooooo much! :D I'll be sure to use some of that caffeine on ficcage in the near future!
So that's more or less Christmas, and it's been awesome. I know some of you haven't been enjoying Christmas anywhere near as much as I have, but have a big hug and maybe that will go a little way towards making your day better? *huuuuuuuuuuug*

Oh Tintin. *deep breath* FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK assad;glkjsfg;lskfdjh YES YES YES YES I LOVE IT I LOVE IT OH GOD TINTIN TINTIN MY CHILDHOOD THEY GOT IT RIGHT THE MOVIE THEY DID IT RIGHT THEY DID IT BEYOND RIGHT OH GOD TEARS IN MY EYES SO MANY FEELINGS THEY GOT IT RIGHT OH GOD TINTIN FUCK I LOVE TINTIN PERFECTION JOY TINTIN AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
*clears throat* I love Tintin. I have always loved Tintin. I don't remember ever not loving that shit. What's not to love? It's funny, it's exciting, Tintin's ridiculously smart and awesome and he meets cool people and saves the day, and there was never any pesky heterosexual subplottage to put tiny!Anne off with icky romance stuff! I would tell you what character I love most, but I can't. I. I honestly can't. Tintin's so amazing and smart and always tries to help. Snowy's always there to save the day for Tintin and he's really funny and awesome and jumps out when you think Tintin's a goner and YAY! BUT THEN. Captain Haddock! Ahhhhh! Billions of blistering blue barnacles! Ten thousand thundering typhoons! AHHHHHH! CAPTAIN HADDOCK! I LOVE HIM! But then. Then. Professor Calculus! Thompson and Thomson! Nestor and Rastapopoulos and Allan and Müller and Alcazar and Jolyon Wagg and. And. Just. God. I love love love them all. I love the books, I love the 1992 cartoon, and guys.
I love the new movie. FUCK.
It's probably been online for months, but I'm glad I waited until it got released here in the US, because oh my god. I love it. FUCK. Just as a movie, okay, because it's funny and badass and looks incredible and works so well, but then there are also all the references. Like the opening credits, with all the references to the other stories, or Herge at the beginning with portraits of people like the Alembick twins or the Syldavian guard or the Colonel from Cigars of the Pharaohs, and OH MY GOD BIANCA CASTAFIORE, and. And all the background characters look spot on to how they always looked, and.
Fuck.
I need to see it again. And you guys need to see it too, because Tintin needs so much more love, and so many of you would fucking love that shit.

I need to stop writing and go watch me some Tintin.
